I went to visit Ty yesterday. We were mostly sitting in the great room near the fire. I have known Ty's cat Spooky for years. In general he will sniff my hand and maybe let me pet his head but that is about the extent of our "relationship". Yesterday Spooky hopped up in my lap. Totally took me by surprise. I don't remember how long he stayed there letting me pet him and talk to him. When I was driving home I realized that I was probably sitting in his spot on the couch near the fire. [IMG] And that I was interrupting his nap time by being in his space.

Specs that is hilarious. Next time you go you will have to test the theory. Remember though a cat is smart and may be plotting her next move as well. :)

Or she just made some watch list. :)

Here is a pic of some of the pieces of the shop stool I'm working on. Again...crappy cell phone pic. The wood is much more red than it looks like in the pic. It's Cedar. The trees were heavily damaged in a storm. I cut them down for a customer, milled all the lumber on my sawmill, dried it and now I'm using it for stuff like this. It's kind of cool to know when looking at finished projects that.....the wood basically never touched anyone else's hands except mine...from the time it was still a tree until it's a finished project.

I splurged a bit today and bought myself a Porter-Cable combination (wheel/belt) bench-mount sander today. I have other various sanders but I really needed one like the one I bought. My others are all hand-held sanders. I've been keeping an eye open lately for a used one but I couldn't find one so I had to go with a new one. I did find 4 old wood handled screw drivers at the pawn shop though. Got them for $1 each. Nice additions to my collection.

I think I'll start drawing out my bench this evening.

A guy wanted to sell me a sweet grinder today. Super heavy-duty. $80. He said it was $450 new. It looked like a really nice grinder and I wish I had more of a use for it but I just have limited space as it is. He also tried to give me a table saw, a radial arm saw and a number of other things for free. I appreciated the offer but I already have plenty of stuff like that. He also had some huge welder that has an old Wisconsin engine on it. I don't know if that was free or not. Probably not.

I considered it briefly but it's huge. I wouldn't mind getting a much more compact unit like a friend of mine has though. I'll ask the guy what he wants for it when I see him again.....just out of curiosity. We're parking equipment on his property right now since it's close to where we're working. We see him all the time. If nothing else.....at least I have plenty of experience working on Wisconsin engines. That's what we used to use to run hydraulics back in the day.

It's huge because you can build bridges with it. Get that thing.

Ok. You've convinced me. I'll what he wants for it and report back. Even if I don't need it.....maybe I can grab it for someone who will use it more than I will.
