I don't want to be one of those guys. Even having a tree business and having access to logs....I can't justify spending that kind of money on something I really just want as a toy. We just don't generate enough logs for it (to be fair...we don't try very hard at all). I'll just have to stick with the one I have for now.

i think it shows up red font on mto and they have to report you..so youre probably safe but the last owner is still legally the owner and doesnt have to sign it over to you if he doesnt want to....

next time run the vin thru cpic

do the search from a library computer just in case

From this woman's perspective, I like man facial hair...but not the scraggly stuff that hair even hangs over the lips and you can barely tell what they're saying. One man that is a regular used to have that over his lip thing going on...I would say huh and what a lot lol.

I want to do or say more but I am on the bucket in the boys garage while he takes apart the motor.

I have the iPad and wanted somebody to know lol.

My son has an iPad. Way different...he also has service in this subdivision. Out in the country they have to pipe in sun shine

They don't even have charter here. I'd have to pay to have a LOT of wire or pipe or whatever laid.

By here, of course I meant where I live.

    I agree about the Internet.

Finally got that patch mowed... MTD mower had to put the valve stem on the inside of the front rims. Yeah, makes no sense to me either. The shortest valve stem at TSC just barely clears the steering. Needed one 1/4 to 1/2 inch shorter, but it works for now.

Got the mower stuck in some mud... like axle deep mud. The shyt that will pull the boots right off your feet, mud. John Deere with the new chains, minus the plow blade pulled it up and out of that mud with no issue. That old Kohler 8HP is one of the best running engines I've got. The Tecumseh on the Bready is right up there too.

I hate to say it but...I had to be an asshole to someone today. I am a pretty mellow guy but when I finally get pissed....I won't mince words. I've had one slacker contractor who isn't getting his shit done. His deadline is tomorrow to keep everyone else on track. He was supposed to be there Friday. He wasn't. He said he would be there today. At noon I called him and left a message. He called me back and said he was pretty busy and asked if I could hire someone else to do that part of his work. Kaboom! You don't call back less that a half a day before you're supposed to be done and pull that shit. Every other contractor involved in this is depending on him to get his shit done and he had weeks to do it. So we had a little chat and that motherfucker was at my house less than 25 minutes later doing his work.

I was back a bit later and my wife said that maybe I should say something like "Hey...sorry about being a dick earlier....." I told her....fuck that...I'm not apologizing for anything because I'm not sorry. I meant what I said and I still have to do half of his work tomorrow to get things moving....so fuck him! I'm not sorry about it at all. These other guys are depending on me to come through for them in the way that this other guy isn't coming through for all of us. My son was in my truck with me when all of that went down and he just said "Wow....the guy had it coming!"

I've just been so irritated today but the effort of the other guys has been noticed and well appreciated. Most of these guys are on the same page. I have to go to bat for those guys. Some other guys are just fuck-ups. Eh...I'm just venting anyway.

After I put the tractors up for the day I dug out the mower deck from that other free tractor, the '99 Ranch King. When I first got it I tried to spin the blades but they were locked up from sitting outside for who knows how long. Got some WD-40 on the spindles, a few hits on each blade with a hammer one way and then back the other way and they freed right up... Low hours 46 inch mower deck ready to go. Belts are even good.

The Kohler Command 20 engine has clean oil in it... (slightly used clean oil... It's been run with this oil. "Who knows how long ago") and it spins against compression. Still haven't heard it run though. Right now it's got electrical issues that I haven't looked into. Can't afford the tires so the fact that it hasn't turned over isn't that big a deal... If it started I'd want to drive it, right? Anyways I may just put this back into service as a mower since the deck is good. Seems I need more than one mower.

Gonna get cold again... 26F by morning so I'm back to having a fire in the furnace.

being the main contractor must be tough......you sound like a good delegator wizzer....

below zero......I will rake my wo0d area this morning because its all frozen and easy to manage with no mud

grand kids again today for some march break mayhem....thy havnt been to the island since they moved off it 3 yrs ago.....we will be making maple sugar treats in the snow later....

as the sun streams in through my front door I realize that if I move a coupe of mirrors just slightly I could have one of those sunbeams go right through my house in a zigzag hitting each mirror in different rooms....

Cut down that Elm trunk today... Been using the limbs up until now. Each limb was bigger than any of the trees I've brought down. Thing is big, had to cut from each side with the 20" saw big. So I counted the rings... 67+. The little rings in the last years of life are very fine so I couldn't get an exact count. Anyways.... The tree is as old as the house, or a little older. Shame to see it dead, it saw the whole life's history of this place. Could have been planted by the original owner as he did plant some of these trees around here from what I've been told by his daughter...

Good firewood, but I hate to see big trees die like that.

Elm tree... Dutch Elm Disease. Im'ma blame Asmo.... He's Dutch, right?

The disease was first reported in the United States in 1928, with the beetles believed to have arrived in a shipment of logs from The Netherlands destined for use as veneer in the Ohio furniture industry.

Could have been Dutch Elm Disease but it also could have been a good number of other things. Do you know if it was an American Elm or a Chinese Elm? Chinese Elm don't usually get DED.

If anyone cares to know....there are several preventative treatments available to keep trees safe from fungus related diseases. DED, Oak Wilt, Sycamore Anthracnose, etc.
