The tree has been dead for awhile, has no bark. The wood looks like Elm though, same as those others I've cut this winter. Not Ash or Cherry as I have also been milling those. I do have Elm still alive also, American Elm.


At the moment I've only been cutting dead burnable trees and those are the species... also a few pine/spruce/whatever. (also dead and somewhat unknown conifers)



There are a lot of downed trees some are still alive and some long dead rotted stuff.... The long dead stuff will stay, most of it. It draws the Pileated woodpeckers. The good downed trees will get milled and stacked to dry. A lot of the Locust are going to go away... Invasive species here. I'll have some areas that will need planted.

Good trees? Lots of Oak, Maples, Walnut, (several species of each) also Shagbark Hickory, the Elms many varieties of evergreens and several fruit trees that no longer produce <<< All these "Good Trees" will only come down if the tree can't be saved.

 

i wish to get more walnut trees,, but this probably to late in my life time to give to much worry. even booboo tree, O will be long gone when its proud into the sky and Reds tree I may never get to see much of anything at all, any dog after Red will surely be my last .. I was outside killing the rose of sharon ,, nice bee loving flowers but annoying weed when it comes down to it. need to get rid of some dead staghorns sumacs too. best tree on my lots is black locust trees.

 

I have a Ginko right outside my bedroom window too.... Probably planted in '60, right after the master bedroom suite was built. Nice tree and pretty good size.




Plant trees as a legacy... Hell, I'll never live long enough to see trees I plant reach full size. Still needs to be done. A city lot would be different, though.

 

If you want to post or PM me some pics....I can tell you what kind of trees they are...if you're unsure. I can usually even tell what kind of tree it was if it's been down and rotted for a while.

the traffic from the closed highway....and this is a main highway connecting Toronto to Ottawa and montreal...also Detroit.....anyways the traffic was being diverted to a smaller highway that winds and has several turns in small towns....transport trucks were slowing the situation down even more

so the seed was 80 k for a short stretch and I guess I missed where it slowed to 60 k so obviously I was doing 105 so....nailed...he dropped it down to 75 over so I can go and do the foodbank donation in lieu of the ticket going through......basically it is legal ticket fixing.....make a donation and they rip up the ticket.....donation is usually near 10 times the ticket amount but still worth saving the insurancre rise

 

plus you can just go back to the food bank next month and get your food back

 

I was called a "little shit" by an older (retired age) lady today. I love those feisty old girls.
