Sullivan, the golden retriever that lives here, and is 8 years old now had a big cyst on his back near his hind quarters...or near his tail. It came under advisement to get it removed and have it biopsied, so Tuesday morning, Sully had surgery to remove it.
It turned out that the mass growing inside was bigger than expected...the size of a baseball....so the incision made was very large. They put 18 staples there to close him up. Looking down on his back, he looks like Frankenstein dog...poor thing....

Anyway, he is to have no exercise for two weeks and to be very careful with him...which and all instructions have been followed closely here and then some...but somehow he managed to get one staple out, and the incision was bleeding and oozing all over the place all day and night yesterday.....so back to the vet this morning...and they put one regular suture there...and he was fine, and then came home, but the incision is bleeding again.....

The report of the biopsy is not back yet.

awww :-( I hate to hear that.

He must be a good boy to handle those different procedures, and still for you to say he was fine.

No point in the biopsy ..... a needless expense ........ I don't even have them on any removed bits of me.

I despise the winter. I am uncomfortably cold at anything below 65 f/18 c.

I went out yesterday and it was windy and bitter, thought I was going to lose my shit. I was born to be a tropic-dweller.

Hi, Lynn...by fine, I meant the incision was fine again and not bleeding...until a few hours after he was home again. He has been on pain medication and antibiotics, also. He has a last dose of pain killers today, so he has not shown any signs of being in any discomfort. i hope after today's last pain pills, he will not have pain tomorrow.

The incision was calmed down earlier today....but then he got excited about something, and started wagging his tail here like crazy....that is what does it. I realized today...bingo...wound started bleeding again.

i can see this is going to be a struggle to heal with tail wagging reopening it.

Also, Sullivan is Stan's shadow and Stan's dog, really. I don't see much of him throughout the day. He happened to be downstairs today when he was wagging his tail when all of the other dogs were making a commotion about something they heard outside, so i I saw what happened only today....I don't get to watch his every move like I do with all of the other animals around here.....

    LOL

Stan would do anything for that dog.....anything....but he would pretty much do anything for any of the life around here,, also.

Chaning the subject now, it does not even feel like Christmas month to me this year. I forget that it is at all....and once in awhile am reminded by something that it is........This is the first year I have ever felt this way. Maybe if it does snow tonight, it will feel more like it...i don't know about that, either...as in other years, it did not snow, and it felt more like Christmas time.

Back to vet for Sully today, and regular vet was there......and gave him more real sutures to reinforce....that is exactly what I would have done the first time....duh...and you ought to have known that was going to be a stress point....better than me at the time.
I signed up for you....why do you keep throwing your substitute at me?...that does not know what she is doing like you do?

happily, none of this is costing anything extra each time...and she said..."if incision opens up again, bring him back again.....free of charge"....but...that will be to you , not your substitute...

Speaking of dogs or any animal, but let's use a dog as an example....It barks and growls when it feels threatened or angry.....It wags its tail when it is excited or happy....etc...

They have red anger...reacting appropriately to their feelings with each moment of the day...next day..."Hey you barked and growled yesterday"..."What? I am living in the now....that was yesterday..."

White anger...carry it around forever and seethe and hold grudges...until it slowly destroys you.

Oh, and the results came back for Sully....benign .fatty mass.....yay...but it could have turned into something not good, so good it was removed....

everything is white outside and covered with snow...but it is not the 6 inches originally said...We got about 2 inches.....enough to soak through my sneakers and socks and get my feet frost bitten again when I exercise dogs today...lol

They just say that to get people excited about having a reason to call in to work saying "I can't make it". Teases....

Yes, it was a slush mess yesterday and not enough snow to plow....and just as I though plenty to soak feet through many layers...and of course today......it is cold again, and that slush has turned to ice....so it is very dangerous today on foot....and black ice, for cars, also in some places.

I think I am confusing mom's dog. I trained her to lay down but by habit when I don't want a pet to bother me I say 'go lay down'

So she may not know when to actually lay down.
