So instead i watched a documentary about the evil cult polygamy....and how some people escaped and built new lives.....One 15 year old boy railed at his father as he did not agree with his father's lifestyle....and was kicked out with nothing....for good.....onto the streets...The boy turned to drugs. A few people tried to help him and got him in a program to quit drugs, and he got clean and was showing some hope...but after awhile went right back to street life. ...selling and doing drugs like crystal meth,. That was a sad story. he was just too hurt to care about his life over his dad, in reality.

 

seems like a sensitive soul like you shouldn't torture yourself watching that sensationalistic garbage

 

i go to a little italian shop near the ferry terminal.......they sell all kinds of cool food products and specialty food imported from italy.....

on their menu theuy have 2 sandwiches...a meat sandwich and a veggie sandwich

thats it...no description because they change them up....they bake these massive chiabotta buns...real ones and not that crap they sell at fast food places....this bread is so soft and its always warm on the sandwich....provolone with lettuce mustard and 3 kinds of meat

my only stipulation is no mortadella....i hate the look of that stuff

I hate cold cut bologna but love fried bologna.

 

i dont like it either ..most italian lunchmeat is weird

the cured stuff is good though like soppressata or genoa

 

fried bologna....i used to make it all the time....dealing with that bubble that appears is brutal...ya gotta slice the sides and it ends up looking more like a fat stubby cross....

i have peeled that disgusting coating off every piece of bologna i have ever had....i give it right to the dog

 

You cut it to look like Pacman and it dosnt bubble as bad. Still have to push the middle down occasionally though.

 

the coating is usually just wax ..sometimes its waxed cotton bag

sometimes its plastic (inedible) or collagen based which is edible

 

i bought something today from the international food section

i like to do that once in a while to find new things i might like

today i hit the jackpot...a jar of something that looked tasty and was cheap...


its called coconut gel...looked like chunks of real coconut so i thought it must be good (i like coconut)

turns out its some kind of gel they get from fermenting coconut water and its absolutely defuckingliscious

8" of newly fallen snow so far.....we are getting 2" ever hour.....blistery cold.

At least one foot of snow fell out there today in our section of NY.
The final plow finished the streets out there not too long ago, and we finally can get out of here....lol

I am trying to make a small stuffed owl out of mohair pieces for my brother's birthday next month...as one gift....and it is puzzling the heck out of me at the moment...this is free hand, free form...no pattern......puzzling it out....and I have no patience for puzzles....I made a small pink teddy bear mohair once, and that is cute. I hope this will be as cute....will post photos if I ever get is accomplished here....Guess I will go attempt it again.....I put my day to good use....
well, am trying to, anyway...

 

It is slow going with my little 3-4" owl....if even that big when all is said and done. I love the world of miniatures.....so , he will be miniature...as my teddy bear was.
I have the face pretty done, but it is so stop and go......I am blocked with it. With the teddy....i zipped through it and had her done in an hour or two...I think that is because I made her pink and was using prettier colored mohair and felt happy....This owl...i am using more realistic color for him, so it is more tedious going...and it is not as fanciful or fun for me.....I may get a little fanciful with him yet. I don't need owl to be too realistic ......He has to have a touch of the fanciful....too.

My mom's dog likes raisins. I think dogs will eat anything though. They are scavengers after all.

I will bring my camera out there with me today and try to take some photos of the snow landscape. It is a winter wonderland out there and I am no longer stuck inside for most of the day today. It is sunny today.as well..
