if they were interesting then they don't belong here haha

I find myself having to choose alliances here on the island to avoid being shunned by the five families of the island

I don't like sucking up to them but I may not have a choice soon to the point I will have to tell someone they can no longer come to my home

Last night Leela who is under the impression that she has whelped dragged 7 stuffies into my bed. She chose ones that squeak or make noise so that she could spend the night comforting her litter and driving me insane.

I may sleep in the dog bed tonight as it seems peaceful. :)

Not sure what "not doing toys" means because dogs play.

How could I not spoil a cute face like this. I may have to drive there with a toy for that sweet fellow you have. :)

This was taken when we first got her, now she has three baskets of toys and each week looks for a new one when I do errands.

OH this gets old after a time. My dog did this for over a month. The vet said take 'em all way (the toys) and if she whines for more than a half hour give her one. Hid the toys for at least six months afterwards. I took 'em away and take her on several errands that she would enjoy and when we go home she was OK. I did keep the toys hidden away for over a year. and ya, she liked the squeaky ones and pushed the non-squeakers out of her bed.

it means I don't waste money on something MY dog doesn't need.......my dog is a watch dog.....he has a job to do and its not playing with toys.........in the house he sits beside me until I put him out to patrol the property....some stranger hands him a toy I want the dog to take the actual hand instead

also my dog has never been on a piece of furniture...never one time so I wouldn't know what it is like to sleep in a bed with a dog

I live on a farm....when the dog is finished and stops doing his job he will be put down and I will get a new dog.....and I don't go to vets either...my dog is healthy...never had a shot....never been seen by a vet.....all that is a scam and a waste of money imo.he comes from a long line of dogs that didn't receive shots....I will never buy a dog post shots

people often mention rabies right about here...the cure for rabies is a bullet to the brain

sorry to be so blunt people but not everyone buys dogs to keep on the bed or couch and smother with toys...my dog is here to protect my cannabis plants,my home and my hens...period...any enjoyment I get from him being around is just gravy

very beautiful dog...my sister has 2 dachshunds and a great Dane....she too wastes money on toys and all dogs are allowed on the couch...when the gd stands on the back of the couh her head is about a foot higher than mine

    what kind of dog?

my dog is a crossbreed....great pyrenese and maremma...both sheep dogs

he is dirty in this pic....normally he is all white lol

yeah it all makes sense now.

if i had a dog all i would expect of it is to bark or at most attack someone entering my home without permission.

i dont see how toys or sleeping on the couch would change that but i can understand being i dont want dog hairs on my clothes.

Buddy has toys, tennis balls, rope balls and a tug-o-war rope and I always use play time as a teaching time as well.
I have got him now to the point that he will charge/attack on command and I can get him to stop that attack and stay poised and then resume attack, all from "playing".

for instance playing tug-o-war he goes at it, I tell him to "hold" and he stops pulling and moving, but maintains a good grip and tension on the rope, then I give the attack command and he goes to town pulling, and dragging me around.
all good things to control in the event of an intruder.
But Buddy has his job as protector and he takes it very seriously. I pity the fool who tries to get in our house if no one is home, start feeling bad for their family if they try to get in when I am home, and will send flowers to the funeral if they try to get in when I'm not home but the wife and kids are, he protects them with a vengeance.

I did have Buddy in my bed taking a nap once, wife wasn't to crazy about the idea and Buddy is very apprehensive about getting on furniture, which is good.
but napping with Buddy is like having a big warm fury pillow....LOL.

I should add that since the day I brought the dog home he has never left here...I don't walk him or bring him any where....his entire world is within site of my house....he chases deer almost every day...that is his fun thing I think

    glen....coyote syndrome...you familiar?

if a coyote gets caught in a leg trap they will chew their own leg off to escape....when a dude wakes up with a less than attractive ladyhe is willing to chew his own arm off because she is sleeping on it....so he can escape

have I mentioned before that I have no arms? :)

we used to call those girls "coyote ugly" for that exact reason, "do I lose an arm, or risk waking her up???"

Always wondered where that name came from. We went to the bar in Vegas. The women there were great but I am more of a sports bar person.
