My wife took a good picture of the owl but apparently we can't post html pics? I don't even know what the hell makes a pic an html pic. I'll post it if I can figure out a way or if I can't, maybe I can take another pic with my phone. The owl wasn't out there when I came home earlier this evening but it was dusk. Maybe he's out and about. On a completely different note.....we got timed for our 1 mile runs at out boot camp class this evening. I'm feeling pretty good about my time. I had the fastest time. A little over 6 minutes. If I would have realized I was that close, I would have made sure I finished under 6 minutes. Oh well.....that can be my goal for next time. After that....wind sprints...lots of them and a bunch of other shit.
Hmm....didn't work. The website automatically retries to upload 6 times. Then it said there must be a problem with the picture. I try to take another pic tomorrow.
I have a love/hate relationship with owls. They are absolutely majestic creatures. No question about that. The ones around here have been hooting well before dark for about a month. Its unnerving to me. I'm old, and I never remember owls doing that on and on like these do. Its the owls that go "Who cooks for you? Who cooks for you? Who cooks for youuuuu? " I am certain that 2 of my loved mama cats that were nursing kittens but took what They Thought was a short break wound up in owl talons. :-(
We live about 30 miles from where those 8 family members were murdered last Friday. Finally got our potatoes planted in the garden...
Planted a tree this morning and spread some wildflower seeds because it was supposed to rain later... We got 3 drops of rain, ffs.
Did you forge that yourself? friggin' nice Damascus...really nice patterning. how many layers/laminates is it? if you did it yourself you should go on the show "Forged in Fire" and win $10,000. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=forged+in+fire+full+episode
No, I don't have access to a forge. Recent purchase, it hasn't even arrived yet. It's over 300 layers.
I planted 3 peach trees...I hope they live... Thunderstorms went north of us but we did get some rain...
Yes, the Barred Owl says that. They have the most chilling cackle when they are hunting. It sounds like monkeys gone ape shit. I can't delete this quote when I try. I was going to say something about your sword but you answered my question.
I showed the pic of the owl on our door to an experienced bird watcher today. He said it was an Eastern Screech Owl. I'm thinking it must not live on the door. The dude from today said the nest was/is probably a robins next and I'm thinking the owl raided it. I've heard that the neighbors across the alley to the east and across the street to the west both have owls living in their trees.
