I saw Garth Brooks play last night. It was ok. The traffic wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting.

To my parents place, where I will start my work week tomorrow morning. But sunday evenings i'm practically always at my friend's place. He never goes anywhere (well not outside the village anyway) so i always just drop by when im in my hometown for a day or longer.

I verified that the old welder does work. The ON/OFF switch doesn't turn OFF... Minor detail that doesn't stop it from working, it stops it from "not working".


I also verified that not having welded anything for 40 years has made me just a tad rusty....

 

my uncle taught be how to weld, his house burned down so that was the end of that.. some welding tanks were found over a 1/4mile away..

 

Nice to be able to do so and I am sure the visit is good for both of you!

I protest., At least someone has the courage to speak up for them in this world.....I will try to figure out how to block the posts of people who like to talk about killing animals ...so i don't have to read them and feel the need to speak up for them anymore.....

Stupid neighbor was back at it today.

She let the Doberman out and it ran through my front yard and carport sending my dogs and cats flying everywhere. I had a golf club between it and Piper. Hubby had a long wooden club between it and Emma.

Then stupid neighbor comes walking down the street with a leash in her hand asking us to put it on her dog for her.

I told her "No" but that I was calling the Police. The Police came out and made a report. The Police also called Animal Control and and Animal Control called me to tell me that they would be out tomorrow to take my report.

 

My son gave me his two weeks notice today. No real issues at all. He did fine. It just isn't what he should be doing with his life and I think we both knew that when I hired him. I think it's been a great experience to work with him and I think he feels appreciative to have been able to spend so much time with me. The only bummer for me feels like....I know this is just a chapter in a longer book but.....we probably don't get to go back. The chapter will be over and it will never be the same later. That's how it goes.

 

Wiz, I know how you feel. My daughter has left my house and come back several times. The last two times she left she also took my grandson from my home. The first few times she moved close by with a friend; the next time she moved in with her dad, a little farther but she still had to come get my grandson from me every evening after work. It's broken my selfish heart several times.

It's difficult to watch them flounder about and make mistakes. Your heart and your hands want to reach out and fix everything for them. You want to keep them under your wing.

This past January, my daughter made her biggest move yet. She took her job and her son and moved 50 miles away.

I wish her all the happiness in the world with her new start - new relationship, new location, new apartment, new job, new school and new sports teams for my grandson - but I still ache for the time that has passed. I want more of it. I want to do it all again but in much, much slower motion.

Then, I place myself in now. I don't long for what has passed and I don't get apprehensive about what's to come. I ask myself if, in this moment, I am okay and if my daughter and grandson are okay.

We're okay and so I go on to the next moments and check in on our "okay-ness" when it's on my mind.

I've been discussing hunting and fishing here long before you got here and will continue.. you should feel lucky that when my hands are covered in blood and fur, I dont have time to take pictures.. so ignore me, I dont care, but that's not your thing. You like fighting with people online. I pay my state to hunt and fish, you don't live here.. You dont pay taxes in my state, you dont provide a dime to our wildlife and conservation, via taxes, licensing and fees.. I dare you to clash with me over the gamelands I pay for..

 

i got my hunting licence this year ...and gun licence (we have to take training courses here for both)
now instead of just an extra set of eyes i can actually do some of the hunt...im just interested in grouse though
also bought a newer atv but dont know how thats going to pan out my back is really bad lately
next goal is probably to get the restricted endorsement

I took junior hunting course and then when i was 16, I had to take senior but they was both the same. no long rifle requirements here, only handguns and its a bitch to get the handgun license to hunt even with a concealed weapon holder.. its rare they give it out to anyone other than handicapped.. crossbows been used here for a while now, but I still use compound . Im pretty good at it, but I lose interest sometimes put it on the back burner.. trying to do more fishing this year too.. even its for 30mins, cause I can walk so close.. I was looking at bass boats today and just thought oh another dust collector. will I really want to take the time to go fishing like that. some of me is hell yeah the other winning part, hell no..

I might have to get a fishing license to go fishing with the grandson this Summer...not sure. I don't think hubby and I would go other than that.

 

Animal Control came out and said that Nov. was the last time they were out about the neighbors dogs. We decided for him to issue them a new warning about their dogs vs us having to go to court as witnesses for Animal Control.

Whatever. I'm so tired of this.


Nothing else going on except this rash on my chest and upper back. I've started putting Bragg's ACV on it.
