Also...if anyone who isn't reading the fitness thread cares to know.....today was my second race of the weekend and it was the shorter run. My daughter and I did the 5k course today. My course from yesterday was around 7.5 miles. I won that by a fairly large margin yesterday. I finished well ahead of people who started 2 heats (40 minutes) before me. I had a little traffic to navigate so that slowed me down a bit. But really...this is what I work for. It's what I sweat for. I love it! I need a goal and a reason to push myself farther than most people are willing to push. It's how my brain works. I hate boredom.
Fuck those snowflakes. It wasn't too bad here today but it was seriously cold yesterday. Last thing I'll say about the races this weekend......it was so fucking cold yesterday that I really expected there to be no kids 5k today if it was still that cold today. It was cold enough that every water obstacle literally took your breath away. Today was better.
http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/the-running-blog/2013/aug/30/dean-karnazes-man-run-forever Most runners have to stop when they reach their lactate threshold, but Dean Karnazes' muscles never tire: he can run for three days and nights without stopping. What's his secret?
If they put generators on keystrokes, some people could power entire cities rambling over polly ticks..
I'm sick of the cold wet weather, wish it would warm up... I now have a stinking sore throat, and the little one has a cold... But at least the sun is shining today... :sunny:
im worn out cant believe how much i already got done today actually used all my 3 vehicles today for different tasks...and my gooseneck trailer...and my car dolly
omg...that is exactly what my mother calls it. well, she says the "fat people show" I watched it tonight...and it really was good. Melissa McCarthy looks much different with her weight loss. She is beautiful regardless of her weight, and having a few extra pounds surely didn't affect her success. MM is really cool about the weight loss...she didn't take a million selfies and talk about it endlessly. I have a lot of respect for her.
