grabbed a mailbox that someone threw away at the dump yesterday....it is shaped like a cow....pretty cool....so I wshed it and now it will be a bird house
I picked up a few more plants today for the flower garden. I guess I'll plant them in a bit. I also still have some trees to plant but I just hate to do that until I know exactly what my long-term plans are for my pond and landscaping. Planting in this particular flower garden is no big deal because it won't be affected by future plans at all. My wife wants me to finish the kitchen before starting any work on new landscaping. That's probably a good idea because my wood shop is currently filled with stuff for the kitchen. I'm using my future pond and landscaping as motivation to get the kitchen done.....so that means her diabolical plan is working.
smoked out the nieghbourhood with burning oil tonight... will have to run that guys machine some more to burn it all out of the exhaust before he picks it up
anyone seen 'crowded' with stacy keach and that dude that plays jeff bingam?...it is a damned funny show
Got gas for the mowers... They moved the "Rain Event" up by a day so I need to get everything mown by tomorrow night. Shyt's growing faster than I've ever seen in my life, and it was wetter last year...
went to a hunting site yesterday to walk around. it was clear cut some years ago. now trees that were no taller than myself have retaken the area and are over 30ft tall already.
seen something similar today using atv to go down some trails and now theres trees and no trail in places where i remember driving trucks thru.... makes me feel old
I have some peas that seemed to have sprouted up in about half the time the package said to expect. We also spread new wood chips this afternoon/evening on the flower garden I've been working on lately. I have one little spot left to do some work to and then some edging work. Then that area will be done for the year. One down, four to go.
Gonna be nice out today......... and, I'm gonna be mowing. Should walk the woods first and get some brush killer on some of that poison ivy before it really takes off. I got the stuff in the area I brushed last fall but didn't go up the trail through the woods. Last year when I cut those huge vines I painted the stumps with full strength brush killer, but that doesn't mean they are truly dead.
I hate poison ivy and poison oak, hubby sprayed it yesterday in a few places, hope it kills it...My fingers still hasn't healed from where I got it last week... Better go hang out the laundry... :daisy:
still not enough grass here to merit a mow some of the neighbours with nice lawns have cut once already
This is the 3rd or fourth mowing for some of it... What I just cut was over 8 inches tall. I had already mown it 3 times. It grew from 3 inches to 8 inches in a week, and we only had one small rain. It's supposed to rain for the next 5 or so days. Gonna be like mowing trees after that. ____________________________________ I was just about 4 feet away from a baby deer... She was so tiny. I did see momma, briefly and at a distance, so I don't think it was abandoned. I didn't get attacked though, so I'm not sure of momma's interest in raising it. I'll have to see how things develop.
perfect day here ...had to go into town and pick up parts that came in then had a nice quiet lunch at the lake before coming home
