so I had the weirdest day fishing ever..
rare I take any more fishing gear than I have to, especially since I can walk 100yards and fish.
using a quick fire shimano reel 6lb test and roster tail lure. taking nothing else but my water, and smokes..
aggressive small mouth bass, think I caught the same one twice. little piggy..
spinner action just under the surface when I get this weird tug, felt like a snag or snag a fish tail .. fight was weird and heavy.. drags a little but stops. I reel it in .. its a snapping turtle. wasnt a super big one, and for fuck alls I didnt bring my camera. had to jam a stone in its mouth to get my lure loose, thankfully I was able to free it and send the turtle back to the water.
Im pretty excited and figure Ill stay for just a little while longer..
lure running the same path I caught the turtle. little musky come flying over the surface like shark week and slams my lure, missing its comes back and strikes it again.. little over 2ft musky, small for the species but still a nice catch.

Band practice this evening. I've been playing with a very simple effect pedal for the last couple of practices. No pedal board, no midi synth and effect, no crazy stuff....just the same model of pedal I was playing when we started this band 13 or 14 years ago (the other guitarist still plays exactly the same pedal). We were on a break tonight and I was messing around with this thing and really into it. Our bass player said "You know...for the rig you normally play....you seem really amused with a cheap stomp box lately!"

He was right. I am totally amused with it to the point that I may just start using it live.....again.....by itself. How fitting would that be? The tone really is pretty good for what it is. I should have probably posted this in the musician forum. I can ramble on about this shit for a few minutes.

 

usually I just use the boss os2 od/dis .. had many different fancy pedals and multi effects, I just get lost with all that dial shit, I just want to play the guitar not buttons and knobs.

 

Raining like hell in the south of my little country and over the border in Germany, it's causing huge problems. I think in Germany 4 people already have died because of the massive amounts of water flowing through the streets...! But here in the north of the Netherlands we aren't getting much. Quite a contrast.

 

I've been using a Line 6 USB unit and Gearbox.... I haven't plugged into an amp and pedals for a long time.


All my pedals are still flood damaged... Disassembled, washed and dried, then stuck in a box. There they sit.

 

All perfectly normal... Nothing wrong with the climate.

 

They got water troubles like that in that area of Germany before. Sometimes the record gets broken.... Like this week.

The more water comes from Germany the more chance we get some floodings where the river Rhine enters our country. Like now. Mostly land that's prepared for that though
