FUCK law, hated it, accounting too...actually anything involving numbers, people that wear suits, people that carry briefcases etc...Is a shite subject in my opinion, never had any interest in it :D

I can sympathise for the English though, we have two three hour exams in that too but Ive always loved writing so I dont mind :)

Couldnt have dealt with that if I kept that on, in first year when we had to do general business the teacher actually begged me to please not keep it on for third year...I didnt exactly make that an easy year for her :reddevil: Although it seemed as if most of our years goal was to cause as many mental breakdowns as possible from 1st to 3rd year. We managed a few...proper pack of cunts we were to be honest :reddevil: thats (mostly) behind me now though although if a teacher is being a **** to me Im not going to sit there and take it like a lemon.

Like last week, my History teacher (massive bitch,literally...massive, nicknamed snail because her neck blends her face into her chest shes so fat, actually looks like a snail) refused to read my leaving cert research topic which is 25% of the final exam. I asked why and she said "Do you know what reality is?" So I asked "Do you know what McDonalds is?"...seriously though, theres supposed to be mutual respect between the teachers and pupils of our school and in general there is. I get on grand with most of em and even go drinking with a few at weekends but if someones going to take the piss out of me like that then they can count on me reciprocating.

Dunno how that turned into a rant but ah well...it happens I suppose

I liked Law, thought it was interesting.

Our teachers were very different, but then we were too worried to misbehave really, my parents would have killed me. Some teachers were a complete pain, but mainly because they were very old fashioned - with one old bag we had to put our hands up to take our blazers off on a hot day, if we didn't we had to put them back on, then put our hand up and ask

I have the joys of community college :D That sounds like hell...I wouldnt last a week in a school like that.

We used to have a teacher in primary school that still practiced corporal punishment [IMG] She was in her late 70s and had taught some peoples parents and they all said that she used to beat them senseless. She did some horrible things to pupils in primary school actually...usually me  nah not usually but there were a few instances, I got off lightly compared to what she would do to some people. Dont know how the old bitch managed to stay a teacher so long :(

God, that's scary. When I was younger, they just banned us/ or threatened to ban us from the school shop. That was the worst thing they could do :D

I loved my school, would love to go back and visit - I am still in touch with one of the house mistresses, so could do I guess.

I'd do it all over again if I could. People usually think the school is snobbish, but it's a really good school I feel.

If I had to go to a "snobbish" school I wouldnt last long at all. I always needed a bit of class chaos to keep control haha. Somedays our year can be ridiculous though. Not as bad as it used to be when we were younger but theres still the odd day when a teacher walks out on us or refuses to teach.

    Ha, it's not snobbish!!

I have always loved learning and wanted to do well, so when girls played up too much I did get irritated :D

You probably would have irritated me :D

Nah I wasnt usually an instigator, Ive always loved learning too but I realised a while back that school isnt learning, at least not with our education system. Its training to memorise meaningless information to pass an exam.

The only thing school teaches you really (well me anyway) is to get up early for something you arent particularly looking forward and deal with dickheads all day. So basically...a good preperation for working life.

    Life is learning.

This is in a post-secondary school? As in college or university?

My first year, we had one of our professors make it all very clear for us.

"You are paying to be here, if you want to act like a jackass and waste your (or your parents) money, feel free, just do it elsewhere."

In otherwords, we were treated as adults...

Putting your hand up? I think I wouldn't last long in that situation as my response would be along the lines of "I'll put my hand up alright... bend over"

That teacher was when I was secondary school age, I think had her when I was 14 -16 years.

I think it was the same kind of principle though, but rather than us feeling as though we were adults, we knew our parents would kill us if we were expelled and the money wasted.

But yeah, in pretty much every class we had to put our hand up, but she was the most extreme, with us having to ask for everything.
