it was on the news how there is so many snowy owls on the island so the birders have been flocking here.....pun intended.......I was thiking of putting a sign at the corner ith an arrow pointing down the road towards my house with the word ''snowy's''>......and then have a sign on my coop that says ''snowy hens''

Well.... I am officially snowed in.

 

plow has been by so ive already been to the dump and the store as well as to drop off some eggs.....shovelled out the coop at 730 this morning......this year I am determined to not get lazy and build a snow wall around the coop so they have somewhere to roam and forage

remember last year?....it rained on top of a blizzard and everything froze solid.....I was walking on ice hills all winter.....not this year.....keep the birds happy and they will lay through the winter.....many people just accept that they stop for a few months but many of mine are laying strong........one problem is that the poop is way harder to remove when its frozen......be careful or you get a faceful

I am officially stoned in..

most the roads here still icy and traffic is nil, no school for most but some schools still with the idiot delay, then they cancel anyways. retard news with their "We are in 11 alert mode".. wtf is "11 alert" some new take on 911 or what??? .. supposedly grow adults make up these goofy saying and just watching them on tv they look like their suffering the worst panic attacks. geeze people get a grip ..

 

I had to see... I made it out my driveway twice. (1/4 mile gravel/dirt, up and down twisty thing that it is)

The road? It's all fugged up. I'm right at the crest of a long hill, solid ice with a bunch of cars in the ditch at the bottom. I doubt a salt truck would even make that hill. I have to pull out into the road, back down it enough to get back into my driveway and then start out going up hill. The second attempt was very tricky. I decided to not go for a third....


To make things more interesting, tomorrow is supposed to be back down in the teens with some 0 degree overnight temps.

 

well ive negotiated driveways for 30 years or more.....first get a 500 foot steel cable and take a rap on a good strong tree.then.....install a cable winch onto your car bumber and thread the cable into the winch....then......run down the hill and tie a rope to another tree at the bottom of the hill....take the free end back up the hill and thread it through a block and tackle on your rear bumper....take a bite on the rope and tie it to your steering wheel because you will need it use one arm to keep a bite on the rope while releasing the winch to slowly roll down the hill......leave it at the side of road once down because getting back up will be a bitch.......

 

Sounds like a proper method to remove the bumpers from your car...
