About to go next door to my house and do a job that I think the contractors are too chicken to do. They seemed pretty relieved when I agreed to do it.

If anyone remembers me mentioning it....my sons band is on tour. Just found out they got robbed in St. Louis. Most of the gear is gone.

No word on the insurance yet. Maybe because he said the band they are touring with has been busy talking to the cops and insurance people today so maybe it will be covered. Sounds like my son may have only lost a 5 string bass. They evidently weren't able to steal everything. They're figuring both bands together lost about $10k in gear. I asked if there was still enough gear to share and finish the tour. He said he didn't know yet but that Omaha looks like it's being cancelled. Crappy. And it just dawned on me...some of that gear may be mine.

I just about shit when I heard this news and ran upstairs (he's staying with us for right now) to see if he took his acoustic with him. Luckily, it's up there. Custom, hand-built, one-of-a-kind guitar that I gave him as a graduation gift. I would have been really bummed if he lost that one.
