Thanks... It's kinda one of those "I ain't got no choice" deals though... I'm backed into a corner, get firewood in or freeze. Last winter was harsh, I've a feeling this one might be worse.

The tractor is very cool... Quite rough around the edges but it still works it's balls off when called upon. It would be nice to have the time and money to rebuild/repaint/restore this and the John Deere... Maybe next winter. The Deere is a '68 so still considered "vintage" if not antique. Worth the time doing a restore on them but I'm also always going to use them because that's what they were built for. They don't make stuff like that anymore.

I agree because they are awesome little tractors...worth restoring but still worth using because they are so great. I love them. Thanks for posting pics of them. Old machinery is kind of a weak spot in my heart. I almost feel connected to it as if I must have known it intimately in some past life. I feel the same way about old tools and lot's of other old things. I love going to local fairs and seeing all the old machinery and the hit-and-miss engines, etc.

I haven't even got dressed yet today. The only reason I got dressed yesterday was to go buy beer. I love weekends like this. And I also love seeing Tom Brady throw his helmet and yell "Fuck!!" over and over on the sidelines as he loses. Eat it, Brady!

I had a day coach trip to Bruges today, and ended up helping to aid a passenger who had fallen unconscious on the way back,
(she was taken away in an ambulance) so I suppose I have done some good for someone.

    Well done Tyrson!
I've brought down a few trees in my time, and there's definitely an art to it.

I've used Husqi's and Stihl's, prefer Stihl given the choice.

I used to have a Stihl 24 inch back in the day... That was a nice saw.

I don't even think I could make an accurate guess at how many trees I've taken down. But I agree....Husqi's and Stihl....mostly Stihl. I used to run XP model Husqi's a lot. I only have one left but it's a Husqvarna 3120XP, 9.5 hp engine with a 6 foot bar and chain. It is truly a beast.

Edit to say.....Echo is a decent homeowner brand but I wouldn't buy any brand at a place like Lowe's or anywhere like that. I only go to the dealers. Better saws.

I ended up with a pair of Poulan Pro.... 18" and 20". I've got smaller bars for the 18" when I get around to brushing. They ain't no Stihl but they aren't bad. At least they are assembled here in the US.

I've also got an old Husqvarna, little guy... I don't have a bar/chain for it yet but it runs. Yard sale find for a buck... Not gonna pass on a $1.00 running engine. It would be for trimming. Like brushing, trimming isn't important right now.
