A good desktop or tower system is so much better than a laptop.

I like messing with my brother… Kind of amuses me… I had a cereal bowl that had a whole bunch of honey oil in it… And I had an identical bowl that I put plum sauce in because I had egg rolls for dinner tonight… So I hand my brother the bowl with the little bit of plum sauce still left in it and the knife that I used to roll Doobies and I tell him to rolled himself up a joint… It was very funny I guess she had to be there

I bet that old Husqvarna is a damn good little saw and I'm sure you can get a bar and chain for it somewhere. You might even be able to swap one out from another saw. How old are the Poulans? The old Poulans and Macs were actually pretty darn good saws for what they were. I don't think there is anything wrong with a homeowner having a newer Poulan either. It will get the job done. It isn't something that we would use but we are using and abusing our saws waaaayyyy harder than the average person.

RF: my daughter just came out of her room bawling. She curled up on her moms lap and cried. I asked her what was up. She said it was because of a book she is reading. :( I told her that means two things....she is a compassionate person and...that is a really good book!

Yeah the "Pro" in Poulan Pro is a misnomer .... First thing it says in the manual is it's not for professional continuous use. But then again, I'm not cutting firewood all day to sell. I'll down a tree, cut it into pieces I can haul. Then take that to the yard. Go find another tree.... I spend more time hauling and splitting than cutting. I also spend a lot of time scratching my head wondering how the hell I'm gonna get some of these trees down.

best thing you can do for any gas powered tools is stick to ethanol-free premium fuel only

it will save a ton of trouble no matter what brand

That's what the HHR runs, so everything else gets it too.

I worry about the lack of lead for the antiques though

Pretty much all of the lower end saws are made by the same few places.....just in different colors and with different names. I always tell people that if they just want something to use once a month...pick the size you want at the price you want because Craftsman is no better or worse than Homelite or Poulan or whatever. And I agree about the good brands making some shitty products for some markets. That's what you get in the box stores. Light, fragile plastic handles...weak anti-vibe systems, crappy throttle/choke linkage, bad pull cord recoil systems (Echo top-handle trim saws...which are actually pretty decent otherwise), shitty intake boots, etc....I could go on but I think it's also important to remember that most people don't need a top end Stihl or Husqvarna. Most people are fine with an average saw. And I will also say that even the best brands make mistakes. I thought the first Husqvarna top handle saw was a train wreck back in the day. I also think the 3120XP has a critical design flaw in that the exhaust blows out closely and directly on the weakest part of the handbrake...on the thin stem. That continually compromises the handbrake and will eventually render the saw unsafe and not up to industry standards for commercial use once the handbrake breaks away.

It might be different in different areas but we run ethanol in just about everything. Everything runs just fine but that's just our experience. Saws, mowers, light equipment, heavy equipment....same fuel with no issues at all. I've heard others say the opposite but I don't know why that is.

It's usually the ethanol eating plastics and the fact that it cleans out the tank and sends all that shit into the carb. In small engines there is also less torque generated because of it's burn... It can't create as much power unless the engine is designed specifically for it.

Honestly, I have heard that for years and I'm not going to say anyone is wrong because I can't say that for sure but we have not had a single problem in any piece of equipment...ever. Not a single saw, brush chipper, truck.....nothing. Maybe we've just been extremely lucky but it hasn't been an issue for us at all.

It's usually older stuff that has run crap gas for years and then you start using ethanol in it... If you have always run ethanol and it's a better quality engine (no crap cheap plastic or rubber in the carb/fuel system) then yeah you shouldn't have a problem.
