It isn't literally yelling… It's more like irate customer using polite words to convey dissatisfaction…

yeah I agree wizard… I think it's cool to let the kids give it away… But you better be careful someone sees a bunch of kids running around with a pile of cash just giving it away they're going to just take it… Keep a close eye on your kids

No, I will be right there. But I think I've changed the plan just a bit. For me to actually find homeless people sitting on the street....I'd have to drive about an hour away and then....they normally aren't just sitting there....especially on Christmas day. There are people in need a little closer to home so what I think we're going to do is go to the local free Christmas dinner at the church (I know....I'm taking my girl to a church? Right?) and give the money to the people there. I'm not sure exactly how that will work yet because what if there are a lot of people? The girls were thinking of giving $25 to each homeless person but at the church there will probably be whole families, some people by themselves, etc. I'm not sure how this will work yet. I'm going to have to think about this.

Edit to say...maybe next year we will make the drive to find the people earlier in the week...with a little more planning.

 

Except for hitting the cash machine to get Dough out for my two granddaughters I'm already for tomorrow...

 

I have often fantasized about having hundreds of extra dollars to walk around the streets of NYC and handing 100 dollar bills out to the down and out pan handlers...people living on cardboard boxes and things......and in the cold? I cannot even imagine that.,,,,,I do not care what their story may be......or how they got there...only that I could give a smile to them at least for a moment.

That would be a very cool thing to do. I'd have to save up my one dollar bills for quite a long time to do that though.

I got the idea to save my ones from a friend. He's a single guy and he decided to stop drinking. He's a mechanic, loves motorcycles and was looking for something to occupy his time so he decided to build a custom bike from the frame up. I went over to his house one day and noticed a stack of one dollar bills on the coffee table. He told me that was his bike fund. He saved his ones everyday and when he had enough to buy the next part, he ordered it. Instead of drinking, he spent his evenings polishing parts and building his bike. Today, he is still sober and has a super sweet bike. The raked frame and the tank are black and pretty much everything else on the bike is polished aluminum. Did it all by saving one dollar bills. I don't want to build a bike though. I just wanted to see how much I could save.
