I do not receive any mail, at all. That is how far away I am from institutional existence. I am producing no records other than my conversations and annual tax payment.

Weeks. If not for the ability to communicate here it is possible I could suffer from psychological effects of isolation. At the same time I am utterly free from the expectations of others and I can invest myself unreservedly in the things that are important to me.

I take care of my elderly Dad. I can't wait until I can be free from the expectations of others. I know I have to wait but that will really be a blessing.

My children are grown and I have become the patriarch. Part of my focus is to not need to be cared for yet I am confident should the need arise it will be met.

I spent the whole afternoon and early evening teaching a little 9-yo girl to play the guitar.
She sat on my sofa with one of my guitars across her lap and the concentration on her little face was a wonder to behold.
We finally got 'Greensleeves' down and rocking,plus she can lay some drop-D blues on you mean style.
I really did enjoy teaching her-mostly because I've never seen such intense concentration on such a young face.

Good way to spend the day! A kid learning an instrument is something I can listen to all day no matter how good or bad they are. I've mostly been playing guitar today myself.
