I used to get a shampoo before my haircuts at the place I go - it was just part of their normal haircut routine - and it was REALLY nice. But they stopped doing that. Maybe it was just me... :mickey:

The last time I got a haircut was in December 2010...or so...

My stepson's motorbike broke down in Florida, and he spent a few weeks there waiting for repairs. He had to be firm with the manufacturer, but they finally paid for it on warranty. He is now in Wisconsin, poised to head for the Northwest.

That must be uncomfortable.

Single would be better in my case also...but there's no way to accomplish that yet. And so, yes, it's bitter wawa for me sometimes. Beer helps...

 

no...actually I am (and was) wearing golf type shorts and a thin dark blue t-shirt with white stripes...with socks and running shoes

 

no...Its not anywhere as uncomfortable as an itchy hairy sack covered in penaten cream

 

You know the routine, lils. Sometimes the light's all shining on me, etc. But you know: The embracing that I need to do is one of the lessons to be learnt. Innit?

thats strange, cuz here at every single hair salon they give u a shampoo first, i mean as far as i know its part of the haircut routine everywhere.
my hairdresser today just spent more time massaging my skull than usual. it was fabulous, i want it everyday

I dunno, maybe they stopped doing it for men only...could be the hairdressers got grab-assed one too many times while shampooing men, and then said hell with shampooing men, they can just damn well have dandery scalps.

Of course this is just pure conjecture on my part, but I think it bears some serious consideration, don't you? Maybe I'll try to pay attention and see if the routine varies between men and women. IF I ever get my hair cut again.

Yes, when I get rich, daily head massages will def be one of my top priorities. :2thumbsup:

 

well, maybe... embracing it all is more a state of being to remember... the opportunities are there for us to learn from or to ignore, but that's only my experience and we are all different... impossible for me to say what your lessons are zeng... and that could be one of them... a guiding thing for me is asking myself, what is/was my part in it? i'm not necessarily talking blame here, just identifying what my part in it was... what can i realistically do to avoid that again... do i notice any recurring patterns? what risks am i willing to take in the future.. do i need to change something about myself? stuff like that...

 

they will wash your hair here but it costs extra

i absolutely love having some strange lady or girl wash my hair lol..i wish i had one of them funny sinks with a head groove in it at home

 

You're preaching to the choir here lils. But it's good stuff, nevertheless.

I can tell you that in my case, learning to embrace the whole experience is part of the lessons.

And also, from my point of view there are certain experiences we just have to go through. There's no avoiding doing what we do, cuz it's who we are. We can say, "I'll do it differently if it happens again." And maybe we will - or maybe we won't, cuz the lesson has not yet sunk into our being deeply enough.

The way I see it is: If I had avoided one situation that turned out "bad," I would have ended up in another situation that would also turn out "bad." Because I had to learn to deal with certain kinds of "bad."

And ultimately I believe when we get down the road REALLY far, we lose the distinction between "good" and "bad." And THAT's when we REALLY embrace our experience.

But I ain't there yet. Are you?

I can't even find an old-fashioned barber around here. If I want to get my hair cut (which I usually don't) I pretty much have no choice but a salon.

That's easy for YOU to say. YOU'RE a GIRL. You've never had to experience the emotionally traumatizing stigma of the "salon person" label. The horror...the horror...

 

i been lazy today. it's about 110 with the heat index. i'm going to yoga tonight and taking that break i was talking about from riding. my legs are toasted
