93 degrees Fahrenheit - 34 Celsius - and 44% humidity. East Coast summers are nasty.

Thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow, then cooler.

My random fact is that I am the baron of a certain area of space on a large, floating and certainly spinning ball which is a member of a desolate vacuum of nothingness which no one can quite figure what it actually is. I may have a point, a purpose, though I may simply be just dust in the wind

but what is wind? could it be a figment of my imagination? Is the universe something I have created.

Something to ponder certainly, but what I am sure of, if anything, is I am not insane.

My random fact is that it drives me crazy when Brits pronounce "aluminum" as if it were spelled "aluminium."

    That's because it is spelled aluminium - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aluminium :)

And yes, I said apologize because of my mac spell checker, it's a pain actually. Apoligise is how it is spelled, I know this much.

"Most countries use the spelling aluminium (with an i before -um). In the United States, this spelling is largely unknown, and the spelling aluminum predominates. The Canadian Oxford Dictionary prefers aluminum, whereas the Australian Macquarie Dictionary prefers aluminium." I admit, I did not know the word is actually spelled that way in most of the world. But my travel budget these days is limited - it's all I can do to travel to work and back.

And it is spelled "apologize." Your mac spell checker is correct. :p

Anyway, can't you set your mac spell checker to use Brit spellings?

    I wasn't going to say it... :D

Tell you what, I'll offer my services to translate all Brit posts into Brit spelling, where needed. You'll need VISA or AmEx tho.

English is such a bastardized language anyway - and it's all the fault of the French. It's their fault we have "garbage" instead of just plain old "trash," "toilets" instead of "loos," and "catalogues" instead of "lists."

This alternative spelling for "fish" illustrates how messed up English spelling is:

    ghoti

That's "gh" as in "tough," "o" as in "women," and "ti" as in "nation."
