i took 190 kilos of leaves to the dump today and it doesnt look like i did a damn thing..i have 3 70 foot maple trees and the leave circle iaround my property is a couple hundred feet across

A few years ago my hair was a bit longer than it is now, and it was bigger, and poofy. I was sitting on the step outside my old place smoking a cigarette and I see this black guy walking up the street and he has a big afro.

I wait until he walked in front of me and he looked at my hair (white guy afro) and smirked so I said, "Mine's bigger," and he said, "no it isn't, you're white." lol

It was pretty damn quick of him. It took me a second or two to realise what he meant.

I hope you understand that it really isn't an issue for me that she's dating a black African Muslim - aside from the fact that his culture hates Christians and he can't seem to tell his brother that he's dating her - those seem to be significant issues. He also still has a wife and kid in Africa btw...though apparently there is sort of a "partial" divorce.

But whatever. It just makes life more interesting, and if she marries him it will be more interesting still. Gives me more stuff to write about...

And also btw I don't celebrate Hemingway's birthday, dammit - we're a Chuck Palahniuk family. :2thumbsup:

 

Hemingway was one of the most overrated writers of all time in my opinion.

 

I will offer my confession: The only Hemingway I've ever read is The Old Man and the Sea. And I liked it a lot. But I guess the one book doesn't qualify me to judge. Still, I like, say, Vonnegut a lot more. And I hafta say: I think Chuck Palahniuk is a stinkin genius. Anyway literary judgment is largely a matter of personal taste.

I prefer AA Milne, but that's just me.

 

The last Hemingway I read was The Sun Also Rises. That'll probably be the last I read of his.


D.H Lawrence is one of my favorite authors at the moment. And yes, it's pretty well all a matter of personal taste.
