its been years since i've had any idea what's on television any more. when i see or hear the word "power" i think of things like solar panels and railway locomotives. its only afterwords that i realize people also use the word for an ego with muscles, or political machinations. it would be lovely if this could be something about the first, but i know that latter is more like television as usual. (which is why i see no reason to bother) (the simpsons could have been called power, since homer worked in a nuclear power plant)
that's kind of a fun thing too. when i think of magic though, i think of it as a kind of non-physical technology, that usually isn't very reliable, but when it works, can do interesting things. there's a lot of wiggle room under the bell shaped hill of probability, that people together can to strange interesting things non-physically, sometimes by using simple or art physical things, to focus on together, with their minds. there's a lot of things that can be done, using a kind of visualization exercises. they don't usually distort probability, but there's an amazing lot of things that can be done without having to. i don't think of it as many people do, as borrowing energy from powerful non-physical personalities though. all ritual is itself a kind of technology, whatever else may or may not actually exist. well that's just the how of my seeing it.
i'm not even sure entirely what that is. do you mean like the kind of addiction many people have to the idea of having to be some kind of big thing to each other, or something else entirely? but if that's what you mean, i think its the culture, that people raise their kids to expect that.
The power went off yesterday morning from about 7:30 to 8:30. I had lunch with a friend and she said getting to work was scary since people were just flying through intersections like no light meant a green light for them.
Seems because of mortality I don't want to die, I'm a god, why can't I live on? When the Life Giver dies, all around is laid to waste. And in my last hour, I'm a slave to the power of death
