A tree and a half... The "half" is about as big as the first tree. Made a serious thud... that one did. Yea they do make a sound when they fall. A serious sound. I'm gonna get a lot of wood from this second tree. It's dry and ready to split, not sure what killed the tree. Ash borer more than likely. Good cord of wood right there... Maybe more. Big tree.

First tree liked to dance... Cut the perfect notch, cut through from the other side, she leaned the "wrong way" just a hair... that being the way gravity would normally pull... and then it just stood there. Like... "Damn, that's pretty fuckin' tricky, what else can you do?" Had to get a rope. After I tugged it lightly, just ever so gently... she fell right where it was supposed to.

Yeah... I've done this before. Fuckin' show-off

Got the first one all chopped up, big pieces are hollow on this one. I loaded one into the trailer and a mouse poked his head out of the center... Can you imagine the terror the poor thing must have gone through? "RUN AWAY! No, no... GO BACK! GO BACK!!! " He's sitting somewhere in the middle of a 14' log for both cuts and he rode the tree down during the fall. I got him up on my arm and moved him to the other side of the drive. He let me pet him for a minute, no damage... then jumped off and ran into the bushes. Hope he can find a new place before winter hits.

Now... I get to see if I can move in the morning.
