Somebody talk me out of taking a baseball bat to my stepson's kneecaps!!!!!!!
He took my three girls and one of their boyfriends to his/their sister's for a small birthday party, and was their ride home. Just found out from my daughter that he was drinking enough to be legally under the influence before driving them back home. He even made a joke about it when my daughters boyfriend expressed concern over his drinking.
So somebody tell me why I shouldn't go "discuss" what being a responsible adult means with him, especially when the safety of his little sisters is in his hands!!!!

Oh, I already laid into them about it. Standing rule in our house, never get into a car with somone who has been drinking, you call home for a ride. I let them know in no uncertain terms they should have called me.
But I thought a 24 year old who lost two uncle because of drunk drivers would have been able to figure it out himself.

I'm with BBAD on this... Anyone who chose to get in that car is just as stupid as the driver was.

And yes, you should sit them all down and discuss it with them, without the baseball bat...

    edited to add...

He's 24??? Forget that last part... grab the bat...

As I said, My wife lost both her brothers because of drunk drivers two years apart. Drinking is a very hot topic in our household.
If I tell her, I'm not sure what she will do to him.

I would love to put him through a wall, but he's half my age and 6'5", so I'll hang on to the bat :p

Well, my initial anger is subsiding, but I will certainly be having a talk with him about this for sure.
He just has to understand that there are some things in life that only have to fuck-up once to ruin the rest of your life.

Haven't talked to him yet, going to wait and discuss it with the wife tonight. He doesn't live with us. My main bitch is that he was driving his sisters, 17,15,10 and boyfriend, 16, around after drinking.
If he wants to take risks with his own life or freedom, that is his choice, but he should be responsible enough not to put others at risk, either in his own car or the car he might crash into.

Although I can encourage patience and understanding from this point of view... I would smack the shit right out of him if it was my daughter... lol

    Thanks for letting me vent.
Anyway, on a more humorous note....
Last night I ran down to Carl's Jr. for a burger and while I'm waiting some guy comes out of the bathroom and asks about getting a large drink, but he didn't have enough, so I paid the extra change for him.
As I was leaving he said "Thanks again" to me, and I turn around and stop and walked over to him, put my hand on his shoulder quitely informed him that he had about three feet of toilet tissue trailing from the back of his pants.
He looked and reached around to see his tissue tail and was like  then he looked at me as I started to walk out and then was like :smilielol5: as was I.
So I got to help a stranger with a little coin and got a good chuckle in the process.:)

    :D
Well of course, it was all GUYS, unlike the Xmas party I MISSED the night before... but yeah, fun time.

Beer at the train station, then a ride across the Charles River on the subway to Cambridge, Indian dinner in Harvard Square (the tandoori swordfish is the food of the gods) wine, then around the corner to a bar for more drinking, telling raunchy stories, and watching the college girls cavorting.

I sat in the train station bar by myself afterward, drinking more wine and writing a drunken email to Deanna while waiting for my train.

I wrote a big check to my wife from my company bonus after I got home, so she was happy. It was a quite acceptable evening - thx for asking. :2thumbsup:

For me... the moment I thought of them as 'funeral shoes' I wouldn't be wearing them dancing... lol

Of course... getting me to go to a dance requires more alcohol then most people can afford...
