He's 21, I don't "let" him do anything.

And it's worse than you know. This is the kid I had to take to the emergency room for stitches on his chin when he was five, cuz he tried to jump across a lap lane of a concrete pool at a hotel. And as a teenager he injured his arm, cuz he just had to try jumping from our back deck to the garage roof, and fell all the way to the ground. I wouldn't even let him use the power mower until he got to be 18 - I was sure he'd end up with mangled, bloody toes and I'd never forgive myself. He had an accident within a week after getting his driver's license...etc.

Maybe he's starting to finally learn his limitations tho...he had me follow him home from the motorcycle place, cuz he knew he'd have problems and he wanted a buffer between him and the other traffic. His plan for the road trip was to take back roads instead of interstates. Well it's more interesting that way anyway.

I thought you might say something about this... I'll pass on some concerns to him...that's about all I can do, other than kidnapping or forced commitment to a mental institution...

cranky...holy crap...i mean...thats awful...gizmo....there is a bunch of scary motorcycle crashes on the internet...make the kid sit and watch an hour of them...if youtube was around in 94 maybe I wouldnt have crashed...and I had min.50.000K under my belt but some dick turned right in front of me and boom..11 months in a wheelchair and a messed up life to boot

 

Seems to me your life is damn worthwhile in some ways and not overly unpleasant - tho messed up I suppose from one narrow point of view.

But yeah, I'm gonna tell him your story and your advice. At the very least maybe it will convince him to be extra cautious and maybe know what kinds of things to watch out for.

I put an end to the motorcross.. Some fucking nuts , really i know them typical white trash welfare recipients wanna run a dirt bike up my road thru my woods. Partially my property.. so I downed 4 big trees.. no more motor bike, unless it can fly.. sucks to be them..
