When I was little my grandmother would give me some with salt on it

 

College is basically "workplace" type of education. If you want to be trained how to do jobs and work in a certain field (ie - Police foundations) then college is very practical. You're also given work placement at the end of your first year so that you work with a company in your field of study for one week. This usually leads to a summer job, and often one beyond school.

University is more general knowledge. For example, I was going to study English at university. It doesn't "train" me for any specific job or field really. It just gives me a thorough knowledge of things english and literature related. If I wanted to be an english teacher or librarian, I'd have to then go study that elsewhere.

College gets you a diploma or certificate and practical knowledge of how to work in your field of study. University is general knowledge that gives your brain more knowledge, what you do with it (if anything) is up to you.

College education can also be put "towards" university education to shave some time off earning a degree if one chooses to do so.

She would shave stripes on it before slicing it also. Looked good and tasted good!
