Forever this will be one of my favorite songs. Just haunting, and that guitar break.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkrEiD9s0pU
William S. Burroughs, Robby Krieger, Ray Manzarek, John Densmore, Ralph Sall (and Jim Morrison looped from original Doors recordings), mixed with new material......enjoy. Lyrics by Morrison and Burroughs. http://youtu.be/6mmSw_HIJ1U
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BORF1yCo9oI I play this way too often. But that's not very obvious now is it?
the reason i posted something by lisa furukawa after this, is because she did a version of tenessee walts in japanese, that's fantastic, but i couldn't find it anywhere to link form. she used to have it as a free sample on her website, but that was several years ago, and i've misplaced the link, although i suppose it shouldn't be too hard to google, i was just hoping to find it on youtube too, which appearantly it isn't. i furst herd about her from one of the furs i sort of know who also goes to anime cons and she was musician guest of honor i think, at sac-anime, whatever year it was that she was.
I stuck it on because I'm amazed at the way she sings this song and the clarity of her voice. The female singers I hear today are singing in a style that is so inferior to stuff like this that it amazes me. Madonna, and all those others, I can't even think of who they are but I hear their stuff in passing. It hurts my old ears. lol or it's depressing. As far as furs, anime cons, and sac-anime, I have no idea what you're talking about other than I think anime is some Japanese style of cartoon. I'm in my own little world.
That wasn't to bad PR! Here's mine (another oldie!) written as a folk song by Rosalie Sorrels. Paul Kantner plays the music and I think he also does the vocals. From the legendary Blows Against the Empire album: http://youtu.be/UALb0NLZM3M
