agree about sushi and its overrating. it's alright, but everyone that eats sushi acts like it's the greatest food ever, and it's really nothing special at all.

i understand that people have different tastes, but not in the case of sushi. that is just people who think eating sushi makes them look cool.

I eat sushi, and it definitely doesn't make me look cool. I think anything would be hard pressed to make me look cool.

(I was rather vehement about that, and I have no idea why. It's just sushi. Mmm... sushi...)

Maybe sushi has mass popularity in your circles. There isnt a sushi place within an hour drive from here. If not much farther.

closest sushi place is at least 45 minutes from here too. but then, so is pretty much everything that you would find in a normal town of this size. i live in a weird area.

i feel like nobody in my current town has ever eaten sushi. i'm mostly referring to people i knew back in college as far as the sushi snobs.

Shouldnt be but sushi fits into that category of snobs. Like craft beer drinkers or wine drinkers. Or coffee drinkers. Coffee is my favorite because there are so many levels of snobiness. And yet many people drink it and dont have a clue to all the coffee snobs of the world.
my friend just started roasting his own beans. Its like i was introduced to a whole other level of coffee snob.

A certain food and/or drink can not make up a whole category of people. I like sushi but I like burgers and chips too.
What is craft beer anyway? I've noticed a few on here talking about craft beer, is it like home brew?

Its just beer made in containers smaller than 500 gallons. Although you can ask 100 different craft beer drinkers and you will get close to 100 different answers. It is almost always made to have some flavor unlike your typical beers that you would normally see at the store namely bud, coors, miller, fosters, heineken, corona.

You think that sounds involved, you should go to a craft beer forum and say michelob ultra is your favorite beer.

if a category of people are the only ones that eat or drink said food or drink then nobody has to categorize them, they pretty much do it on their own.

What? How are people that eat Chinese (I'm assuming that's what this Golden Dragon restaurant is) catergorised then?

Just a follow up, as the story was here...Stan's brother came through today, and Sharon is getting the house for a mere tolken. Has restored my faith in humanity a bit today......YAY!
I really did not see it being any other way without a total break up of brothers.

Re Sushi, I don't see how anyone can say its rubbish.
The issue is what SORT of Sushi. Any type of food, you can have cheap stuff, or really top quality.
I mean you can't compare something like tuna + a bit of cucumber california roll, and say top quality Abalone (as the extremes).

Its the same with Russian food and things. Some people say "blah blah its boring". But have they actually tried the different variants.
