Rap and Basketball...

    RAP DOES NOT EQUAL BLACK CULTURE.

    Let me guess, cosby is an uncle tom right? Condi rice, colin powell and any other succesfull black too, right?

    Well, I guess I will add something. I think that rap music does have bad connotations. It's a largely violent-lyric musical genre, and those rappers that have made it famous encourage with their images a large group of impressionable teenagers to become like them. It's the same with super models and young white females. I'm not saying it's a black thing, either. I do see while teenagers pulling the same stunts, but not in not near the numbers of young african americans.

    And like was said in the last post, rap does not equate black culture. There is so much more to that culture than rap music, and as far as I'm concerned, as an ethnic marker, rap music does almost NOTHING positive for the image of the modern african american person.

    I love hip-hop, and rnb. I'm not a huge fan of basket ball though but my brother is.
