I returned to make posts and threads in this forum without using quotes or scripture. Previously, i posted scripture pinpointed to the conversation at hand. Now, i am going to post the same line of thought that is in the scripture but in my own words with the reference being knowledge which i.received from the faithful and discreet slave and from the book thats is sometimes black and fanatical christians beat people over the head with without correct knowledge
ancient scriptures may appeal to ancient questions, but i challenge you to think on your own. scientists today dont pull out a bible when they are trying to prove something. they use logic and proof and experiments. just for a thought experiment, lets pretend that the bible and religion do not exist. now is there any way we can go about explaining the complexities of the human brain and how it is what it is today? i can think of a few ways that make good sense: 1) study the human brain and biology 2) study the brain of other animals and their biology eventually you will start to see a pattern: our biology is very similar to those in the ape family tree. now why is that? hmmm, maybe we should explore that.... if the bible is the absolute truth, our findings should always agree with the bible.
ok the title of this thread is reasonableness. our biology is similar to a tree. but it is even more similar to apes. around 98% in fact. as a resonable person, isn't that at least interesting? does it not conjure up more questions?
the concept of god having rebels seems pretty strange to me. wether or not they had free will is pointless because acording to the bible god should know what they are going to do and when. an omnipotent god should never have to fight any kind of war. he should never have or need an army. if any of gods creations has a disagreement with god, it is only because god gave them the intelligence to question him. he should have forseen this.
are you saying by the very definition of god, it would not be possible for him (or her?) to have rebels?
What the serpent said was you will not die and the fruit is good and will make you like god, the fruit of good and evil in competition. This very thing that he is saying is the falling of man out of the garden of enjoying what is here. He wasn't killed, he found himself toiling under the sun, trying to be like god..
man is vain hence you have the tale of the prodigal son of the king He goes off with brilliant ability to taste but doesn't know what his purpose is so he makes mistakes in locating his desire it is an admitted tragedy but the sun is too embarrassed to admit he was wrong, fighting because you think you are right..., sound familiar This is what suffering is about The wisdom of ancient body is appealing for you to pay attention because you are surely dying, not because you've had enough pain this round and you lay your body quietly down. Our endurance to pain is great but every body has a breaking point,a time when they need to retire to collect thoughts
Just as humans today are. We believe we are a god within ourselves. Notice the lie the serpent said. You will not die, when in turn, they did die just as God said they would if they ate.
They were put out of the garden and cherubs were posted for no re entry. Thorns and thistles. No more banana trees on every corner.
