the "hellbound" sign mayb be cool for a fb profile pic or something, but I doubt you'd actually hitch a lot of rides with it.
It was just me goofing off at work. I did stand out on the road with this sign for a while just to see what would happen though
I'm Not So Sure About That, If You Accept The Word Of The Bible The Road To Hell Is Going To Be A Multi Laned Hwy In Total Gridlock... Cheers Glen.
I'm pretty sure I almost got murdered the last time I went hitchiking. This guy picked me and my buddy up in a pickup. He seemed like a pretty chill normal guy, with cool buttons in the cieling of his car and a stereotypical stoner vibe. He told us he would drive us about 15 minutes up the highway to a better spot to catch a lift, but he wanted us to come smoke weed with him at his place... So we got there and it was basically your standard stoner house...posters everywhere, video games & big plasma, bong shelf, etc, and we took a few rips out of some of his bongs and everything was going fine.. until he whips out the katana. I was thinking "oh its chill he's one of those weed and katanas and knives and stuff dudes. I know lots of people like that". Then it turns out the katana has a built in dart gun and he starts blowing darts into the wall near my friends head and just bragging about his cool weapon collection. Then I look up and there are spears on the ceiling, and I look in between the posters and there are knives everywhere. Then I walked into his kitchen and the whole wall was covered in various butcher knives/cleavers and there was this large wooden ball thing on the table with knives sticking out of it. Lots and lots and lots and lots of knives and other weapons fucking everywhere. He kept asking us to come to his room so we could have a sword fight and we just sort of edged our way out of there and convinced him to give us some more kush and bring us back to the highway... but I think he might've been one of thos dudes who like has to go through certain rituals before he can fuck people up -- and we might've just avoided the ritual. IT was a very sketchy time -- especially since it was on the "highway of tears" in BC. Either way, I'm still alive so that's chill. Hitchhiking is amazingly fun, but it can be pretty scary sometimes. I prefer to get into cars with women.
This was taken by a photographer friend of mine.I think I look a little like Richard Burton in a Shakespeare play.
Richard Burton or maybe even John Belushi,,, that pose in black and white reminded me of him, dunno why,,, I get told I look like many famous people in photos even tho I am camera shy and don't have many of me. I always think I look like crap.
bad idea to hitchhike on the HOT for anyone, but especially young girls. If you seriously thought this guy might be a psycho killer, you should probably report that to the police. He could just be some weird creepy dude that's mostly harmless. The fact that he let you go tends to support that. He could also be a serial killer. lots of weapons + creepiness + picking up hitchhikers on the highway of tears = really good fit for serial killer profile wouldn't hurt to drop a dime this time
I used to hitchhike lots when I was younger till one scary event, then never again. Also my friends kid got in a car a few years ago,,, how do you know you are going to get in the car of a man who wants to die right now? He sped up so bad going down the highway and the kid kept saying "Slow down please" they went off the road at high speed as the guy told him it was his day to end it all. The driver died instantly and the kid crawled out the window and crawled to the road. Little did he know even tho it was hard to keep his head up during the crawl that he broke some vertebrae in his neck. A trucker stopped and held him there till an ambulance arrived and they had to fuse his neck. He has recuperated but will always have limited movement in his neck and he is one lucky guy to live through that day. The driver was from Vancouver on a long road trip to decide his end apparently and he decided to take someone with him,,,
He said after he was healed but still learning to cope that he tried to think of it as a really badly done scary movie he was playing a part in and it didn't really happen but he still felt the fear he experienced as the guy told him what was going to happen and why. I don't see Glen's photo yet,,, mine is here,,, Glennnnnnn?
I hitchhiked all over Canada and US, met some whackos and got into some messed up situations, even had a few guns pulled on me, but I also met some pretty amazing people and have some fantastic stories. I suppose it takes a certain kind of person to pick me up though, I'm 6'3" and pretty big, I've been over 200 lbs since I was 14.
