He was/is a character for sure. He should be as popular as Dylan, yet so many people are unfamiliar with him.

 

For those that listen for music and seek knowledge regarding it we find those special artists that either didn't want to be mainstream or time forgot about them... I'm glad artists like Tom Waits and Don Van Vliet aren't heard of that much. It makes them that much more special.
