Queens Of The Stone Age self-titled is the best album I've heard in recent years. These guys are incredible.
I second every letter you just typed.... I must also throw in Keller Williams, Leo Kottke, Mike Gordan, and Michael Hedges.
Kasabian http://www.kasabian.co.uk/ http://www.threeam.net/kasabianpics/index.html http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0002LI58Q/ref=ase_ov-uk-preumb-691-21/026-0825126-2610035 nice Leicester boys...
Why not... I suppose I'll throw in Eric Clapton... One More Car, One More Rider... I seriously suggest waiting for the Crossroads guitar festival DVD. The main reason I like OMC, OMR is because Billy Preston does the most insane version of Will It Go Round In Circles that I have ever seen... I've got almost three way tie between Billy Preston, Mike Finnigan, and Gregg Allman for Hammond B3 Drawbarists...
Yay... here's what I've been listening to: The Beach Boys ~ Pet Sounds.. as already mentioned, this is by far the greatest pop album ever... I had to burn it again and put "Good Vibrations" on it, in between "Sloop John B" and "God Only Knows", making one of the greatest albums of all-time even better, like it was meant to be.. damn record execs :$ The Beach Boys ~ Smiley Smile... not as great as Pet Sounds, but hey, what is? The Beatles ~ Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band... 'nuff said. :H Syd Barrett ~ The Madcap Laughs... he's so cool. Brian Wilson ~ SMiLe... I'm starting to think less of this album after downloading more of the original recordings from '66 and '67, but still great nonetheless.
Oh crap... ahhaha... you have the same musical tastes as me... I keep forgetting hah... I reccomend everything above said. I effing love that Ani D. album... it's the best one. I suppose Neil is rather pissed... they quit making analog tape... and he's a firm believer of analog and high quality recording... he's always staying ahead of everyone else in recording and studio technology. I suggest for some of ye... oh let's see... You peoples need to try some Mahavishnu Orch. stuff, but I like a lot of the modern/new John McLaughlin guitar work. and you all NEED to buy the crossroads guitar festival DVD. hah... Ray LaMontagne - Trouble (This is so damn awesome...) http://www.raylamontagne.com (live stuff on his site) Jack Johnson - On and On (His new album In Between Dreams is being released March 1st) Donavan - anything by him... Keller Williams - Laugh Keller Williams - Freek Mason Jennings - USE YOUR VOICE (awesome album)... actually, anything is good by him... I love all of his stuff... he's like Neil Young's harvest era minus the hoedown crossed with Dylan. Century Spring is also a good album. Uncle Shaker - Their Debut Album (it's not released yet but http://www.uncleshaker.us) Erin Smith Band - ALL of their stuff http://www.erinsmithband.com as well as Ladybird Sideshow (check out the links page) John Fogerty - Blue Moon Swamp Indigo Girls - All That We Let In (I have the DVD as well, comes with the album) http://www.indigogirls.com Of course, anything by Bob Dylan and Neil Young. John Prine - Souvenirs Also, check out Fred J. Eaglesmith and Cowboy Junkies... BRUCE COCKBURN... yes... and I'm wonderin' where the lions are... pacing the cage... I love it.... http://www.fredeaglesmith.com Tim Reynolds... well, I only like the Dave Matthews stuff that features Tim in it... he's more talented than Dave, blows him away (Dave admits that)... hah, live at luther college is a nice 2cd set... Grateful Dead - The Best Of, The closing of winterland, and all their bootlegs... I really don't like the Thunderbirds, but I like Jimmie Vaughan's solo stuff sometimes, I like his rockabilly stuff sometimes... and of course, his brother the late great stevie ray who I don't even need to speak for... Eric Clapton (as I said, Crossroads feature Hubert Sumlin, Robert Cray, John McLaughlin, Buddy Guy, BB King, Joe Walsh, Larry Carlton, John Mayer, Steve Vai) and One More Car, One More Rider (I love the live DVDs of clapton) Robert Johnson... all of his works are compiled to a greastest hits if you can find it, also check out Eric Clapton's One More Car, One More Rider... I also reccomend Barenaked Ladies - Stunt.
