She is, but she's Nigerian. She was born and raised in Nigeria, then lived in Cameroon for seven years before coming to America in late 2007.

There is a huge difference between African women and African-American women.

My girlfriend cannot stand African-Americans -- not all of them, but most of the ones she's met.

Most African people are polite and have morals. Sadly, most African-Americans do not know how to act in public. Most American black people live up to the stereotypes bestowed upon them. That is sad and unfortunate.

 

Selection bias.

Africans that make it to the US or Canada are their richest and most educated - hence the manners.

I live in Africa, for what its worth.

 

Upper-middle class white people are the meanest people I've ever met. My little brother turned green (literally) from eating lobster at a Red Lobster when he was about 11. It was hilarious.

 

Not everyone can be a boring, sedate and reserved WASP i guess.

Just because people have different cultural and societal expectations of how to act in social situations doesnt mean they're immoral, not even sure how you make that leap.

 

Not to mention you're making a horribly ignorant stereotype. Plenty of white people act like total assholes in public, plenty of black people are more on the reserved side.

it does seem like loud black people are louder than other loud people, so they are more noticeable when being loud.

i've never had a problem with red lobster. no, it's not quite as good as most non-chain seafood places, but everything i've had there was still pretty good.

 

Seafood chain reateraunt just spells disaster IMO to begin with. The quality of food in chain stores isn't that great to begin with but then throw seafood in the mix? Ugh. No spankyou. I couldn't think of much worse and I'm not a big seafood eater anyway, I just like lobster and squid and calamari. I'm getting better with fish but I need it battered to the max and fried like a mofo so it doesn't taste like fish for me to eat it.

 

The majority of blacks around me are polite and as good as any other people in the area. But there is a reason why stereotypes get started. You can cry racist all you want but that won't change people's behavior and that behavior is what starts those stereotypes.

Just irked me...and ive found from working with the public, white american men from certain parts of the northeast are the most obnoxious and rudest, not black people..so thats kind of funny.
