i have to say im not following this whole red sox thing....im not a baseball person, it seems incredibly boring to watch. it reminds me of SNL..the boston teen sketch.hehe.
so fuckin what?? they are a wild card team, plain and simple. they didnt win their division did they?? and the reason why houston was 13 back was probably due to the fact that st louis had the best record in the major leagues. houston is/was a good team, they started out horribly with a terrible manager, and once they got beltran and a new manager they were the hottest team in baseball. besides, the AL east is a piss poor division. who else was in that division besides NY and boston, huh?? oh yeah baltimore, tampa bay, and toronto. wippidy doo. st louis had to contend with houston and chicago this year..... plus you gotta have a better record than 5 other teams in the division, compared to all of the other divisions that only have to beat 4 other teams (besides the AL west). look, you cant compare teams ok? its different divisions with odd number teams. the fact of the matter is, they didnt have a better record than NY. they are a wild card team, they had a worse record than st louis this year, and they are gaining an advantage because of the stupid all star game. and on with the allstar game..... lets say, a manager wins their league championship, and starts out horrible to start out the next season. He is getting in fights with the upper management and is being threatened to be released from the team... what if he doesnt give a fuck about the allstar game, and just loses it on purpose, knowing he wont be the fuck there for the world series championship at the end of the season? its stupid!! there is a reason why you play 162 games in a year. the best team should have home field advantage, plain and simple.
The Sox are up 3-0 and I'm still nervous! Will the Cards do to us what we did to the Yankees? Is the curse really that sinister? Gotta think positive!
i put those examples to illustrate that no team, no matter what there regular season stats were, should never underestimate a wild card team. i could care less about some regular season record, this is the playoffs, a whole new beast...playoffs are different. a regular season recored means shit. i could say the same thing about your division, all you have is houston and chicago to contend with; who else is there - cinci, pittsburgh, and milwaukee, amazing,...you guys just have to beat out 1 more contending team than us and they weren't even real contenders this year. i wasn't comparing any team, just pointing out that you shouldn't discount a wild card team just because there a wild card team well, maybe the NL should have played better in the all-star game. they knew what the stakes were and at the point in time, no team knew if they were going to go to the world series. it should be an incentive to actually play hard during the all-star game now instead of just showing off...they have there leagues home field advantage at stake. and like i said before, regular season records mean shit in the play offs, so the 162 games played doesnt' matter once its playoff season. a manager doesn't win the all-star game, the players do...the manager shouldn't have to try to get the all-star players to play hard during the all-star game. and if he doesn't give a fuck, then he shouldn't be the manager for the all-star team anyways.
WOO HOO!!! THE FAT LADY IS SINGING NOW!!!! Hey madcrappie!! What home field advantage were you talking about ?!!
I hope the parade in boston is gonna be on Saturday cause if so im going! i dont care if i have to hitch hike!
I Am So Happy The Sox Won The Wolrd Series. I Am Not A Big Fan Or Anything, I Was Mainly For Them Because Of "the Curse".
yeah yeah gloat all you want...... who has been to more world series appearances and championships?? they were due, and they have a good team. Im tired of hearing people gloat, especially cub fans. the cubs are the biggest chokers in all of sports, and these cub fans act as if they won the world series. just remember the cardinals surprised alot of people this year, they were expected to place third in the national league central.. They made it all the way to the world series which says alot in my book. besides, Im still upset about the whole home field advantage thing, and that is something that needs to be changed back to the way it was.
also all I need to say is at least st louis has real fans, not a bunch of celebrity bandwagoners who comes out of the woodwork supporting the sox. Id rather not have people like steven king, jimmy fallon, tom hanks, and BEN AFFLECK supporting a team I am a fan of. tom hanks is the worst though, first he was supporting the dodgers in chavez ravine, then he goes to fenway park to support the bosox. what a bunch of crap. fake fake fake. the biggest celebrity at busch stadium was leon from the budweiser commercials.
