^yea thats it. after brad died, they agreed to make music again as long as no hard drugs were involved and it ended up fucking LBDAS too.
P.O.D. with H.R. (BAD BRAINS!) 'Without Jah, Nothin'' one of my favorite songs ever just because H.R. is the shit (disclaimer: this has reggae in it but it starts with a little hardcore so if you dont like hard music, wait till a few seconds into the song) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXFq_ByaYCc&feature=related K2R Riddim 'Yin & Yang' i love the brass section in this song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Th80NfM38Eg
love this song too The Specials 'A Message To You Rudy' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGDQ85Dg-ss&NR=1 also an awesome song: Jimmy Cliff 'The Harder They Come' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGE4dnrPPZQ
Bob Marley - Punky Reggae Party https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFnh_Eq650Q Peter Tosh - Bush Doctor https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvOrMXlouQM Damian Marley ft Nas - Road to Zion https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mmAuHieD7Q Damian and Nas gonna drop an album this year should be tight
Lol imo reggae is a combination of rap and rock good lyrics with smooth beats thats the way I see and just because Damian Marley doesnt try to be like his father and does his own style doesnt mean its a bad thing
I can dig that Damien does his own thing, I just don't like that dancehall/ hardcore sound. Plus, it seems a little fake for him to be acting like he grew up on the mean streets... He grew up filthy rich. Nice sig, King. I bet you he's still alive. Whatcha think?
Lol Damian doesnt act like he grew up on the meant streets he sings songs about opression against his people and struggle that they gone through overall. If anyone trying to be gangster its Ky-mani but ye i dig his music. Lol Pac might be alive but i doubt it, I think suge knight had him killed being the bitch he is
sure, there's lots of popular songs with reggae or dancehall influences that are poppy and made for the masses but there's a lot of roots and toasting still going on one of my favorite groups of all time Katchafire 'seriously' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWUbNcIoEXA and Katchafire 'frisk me down' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlwTHvoXhyc&feature=related :cheers2:
I was surprised that I had to read through 7 pages before Slightly Stoopid was mentioned. My fave Stoopid song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyPQ2anPVDg
Anyone hears reggae in spanish? Here's a few bands that I like: - Monte Bong - Gondwana - Manu Chao (Crackhead or not, his lyrics and music are just awesome) - Bamboo - Jahbafana - Zona Ganjah - Spiritual Reggae Band - Cultura Profetica And some in english: - Soldiers of Jah Army - Alborosie - Alpha Blondie - Aswad - Cocoa Tea and some dub: - Maya Dread Dont remember anymore.. will tell you more when I do.
I'm not a big fan of reggae, but I love its precursor. The Skatelites are one of the best bands to grace the ska scene.
i just want to clarify that reggae is a very broad genre. so, some sub-genres will use pop and hip hop flavor.
