Ahoy ... Are you serious ... wow, they are my all time favourite. I used to listen to Conflict, Chaos UK, Subhumans, GBH etc and then '...And Out Come the Wolves' came out in '95 and everything changed ... everything. I'm generally a Hellcat Records nut too ... The Unseen, Time Again etc … and let’s not get onto Lars Frederiksen & the Bastards and The Transplants.

Tell you what is eating at me, is they have all the material from their new album this year, but there are still no details for any UK gigs for 2009. Man, considering that they usually do October / November in the UK, I won't see them again ... well for a long time, as I'm going back to SA in May / June 2010 ... Aggghhh, unless they gig in SA, which is still quite unlikely, I think ...

I like more modern roots reggae, suits me better I guess

    Ras Cricket (Swedish)
    Alborosie
    Chezidek
    Mighty Rednek (Swedish)
And about 5 songs from Bob Marley
Gentleman aswell, though some of his songs are too RnB for me

I don't know, I listen to anything that sounds good to me, though I can only say those are the 4 groups I actively listen to every day
PS: Those damn swedes make good reggae

Anyone heard of a Canadian group called Bedouin Soundclash. Pretty cool.
    Sorta roots-y Reggae.
Heard them when I was living over there. Quite impressed.

Anyways, I found out that Matisyahu will be here in Nov. and later Capleton/Cocoa Tea and Anthony B!!!!!
    Fucking excited!
*edit* i almost forgot that gramps morgan from morgan heritage performed last night and was spectacular!

Vig what are some good songs from Buju? Matisyahu aswell?
Just like alot of the groups that are introduced to me, I hear some bad songs and I won't listen to any of them. Like I have with those two :(

    I'm too picky, lol
Edit: wait, where do you live? FL? (Your thing says Dirty south, so..) lol

I live in NC. florida is not the dirty south. it's new york south. lol.
anyways, matisyahu has awesome hebrew flavor in his songs. especially the first two albums (youth and shake of the dust), his new album is a bit different, but still enjoyable.
buju was originally dancehall and moved to more conscious lyrics. he has a new album out as well.

"it's new york south." pfft. lols

Well I down-...bought two of Matisyahu's albums, Light, and Youth, and I was trying to get into the music but I couldn't :( Oh well everyone's ear is unique to what they like and dislike.

But since you've introduced me to some new music, I'll do the same.
Here's a really awesome swedish band called Ras Cricket http://rascricket.se/
Their best albums are 'Life inna backseat style' and 'Del 3', are also also convinently available for free DL from the website :3

Enjoy, and listen to 'Let the fire burn', and 'I'll be there'

Oh Vig Im happy you got to see Buju. Matisyahu is playing at the Fillmore in San Fran next month...tix are 73 bucks! I was appalled! I will not pay over 40 to see an artist...even 40 is pushing it and reserved only for my favs such as Mizzzz ani Difranco who is also playing in my area next month! Groundation is playing around these parts next month too. Yay for good mooooosic! =]

Ahoy ... Man, I’m just not sure where this vid by Terror MC would go, I mean he is a hip hop artist, but this track, like a lot of South African hip hop … well, I don’t know, just though it would be cool to shove it here on this thread. The song is called ‘Liberate Yourself’ … Cape Town grooves ...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTKFBPM4GNg

LOL, I actually know one of the Bros in this video and bump into the others at the Tosh, Spear, and Garvey Camps in Cape Town … good times

Hope no one thinks this is a hijacking :)

Ahoy ... umm, Cape Town ska/reggae band ‘Rudimentals’ … songs called ‘London Sucks’, Tee Hee … anyway, it’s a live vid, so sound isn’t the best, it’s cool, just not the best

Ahoy … Wow, so who is keeping count anyway, it’s all just music

On the dub front though … ‘Sack Cloth’ Rasta in Africa listen only to dub … vocal music is seen as ‘Babylon’ ... hmmm

Man, the dubs Perry / Mad professor did were pretty cool
