it makes your skin crawl, and yet. you are here. you might not like the word, but you still have some involvement with the concept. it's okay, I understand that the word is mostly used by wackjobs.
Yeah, there is a difference between seeking community and naturally forming communities. Although, the line of division between the two is probably impossible to establish like any other line of division; it is, contradictory. But, right now, it's not... Right now, the difference between the two is pretty clear to me.
burning man is made by the community, it's not imposed upon us, the theme camps happen because people make them happen, yes, some get better placement than others, and some don't get placed at all, but the community happens the way it's supposed to. not the way it's been told to. it's organic.
I understand. I see value in it. But for me, I think I need (for now) to focus on building relationships with people around my material (not ideological) interests. Which is to say, through work.
