firstly I have researched ALOT about snakes. Boas, Pythons, colubrids, and even wild species... And I know for a fact that an 8 ft Boa could easily get around your neck (and trap your arms) and strangle you with ease.

.It is a Saftey issue having Rose in the bed with you... Any responsible boa owner knows that when handing a large species you must have one arm FREE at all times.. And you must have 100% of your attention on the snake...

And your wife would'nt be able to do anything about it.. because well.. An 8 ft boa is extremely strong, and they have a tight grip when they wanna hold onto something..

Does it make sex more spirtual? Just curious....Probably so, snakes are really graceful, and in a way spirtual anyways.

Then there is the story of a guy who had a boa for years...one day the snake turned on him. They found him dead in his kitchen and the snake had fork stabbings all over it from him trying to get it off.

Snakes and reptiles don't really have the same emotions as humans or dogs etc.

thats wierd, i don't associate snakes with elegance, i think of them in terms of adam and eve/the fall from grace:X etc. even though i'm agnostic.

i don't mind snakes, it must be my priest RS teacher poisoning my mind with religion again:rolleyes: .

DAMN YOU RELIGION! HOW MANY MORE DEATHS WILL YOU CAUSE!?!:X JK

Somewhere in the range of 390 per square inch of her body during contraction. Im not disputing that the Snake isnt deadly (thats half the reason that I want very large reptiles. Ive been breeding them all of my life.) only that she is un interested in attacking humans. Having seen her provoked many times, and handling her hungry, and letting her and my cat and various other animals run free in my home of a period of many years not having so much as a hiss come from her lips to any human or domestic animals I can safely tell you that my 8 foot boa will sleep with a kitten wothout worry. and has before. I know of pythons that have killed and partialy eaten people. But there are no records here in america (Ive been looking for years) of a boa killing a human. on an end note I keep large reptiles because they are cold hearted killers with no remorse. I keep them in my bed because 1 im still the only one in the thread that has actually expierenced this with a large snake (with no worries). and 2 because humans have slept with reptiles for many thousands of years (knowingly or not) and many more things far more dangerous. A pit bull is more likely to attack you with out reason than a boa. and millions of people sleep with them every night;)

Its not the Australian snake handler, it was something I was told quite a while ago, can't find an article yet but here is another:

DENVER (AP) -- A 10-foot-long Burmese python killed its owner Sunday by coiling so tightly around him that the man could not breathe, authorities said.

``He was handling the snake and showing it to someone when the snake wrapped around his chest,'' said Rory Chetelat, spokesman for the Aurora Fire Department.

The owner was a man in his 40s. His name was not immediately released.

The snake weighed 75 to 80 pounds.

Several police officers and firefighters were needed to remove the snake and free the man.

``Two police officers tried to place their batons between the snake and the man's neck so he could breathe,'' police spokeswoman Kathleen Walsh said.

The man died of asphyxiation, said Bev Petry, spokeswoman for the Medical Center of Aurora in suburban Denver.

Firefighters later herded the snake into its cage and turned it over to animal control. Walsh said an Aurora ordinance bans owning pet snakes longer than 6 feet.

    and another:

By Ernie Hoffman, Post-Gazette Staff Writer

The mother of a young girl who was strangled by a pet snake has agreed to testify against her estranged husband, who is charged with manslaughter in the child's death.

Marcy and Robert D. Mountain were the parents of 8-year-old Amber Mountain, who was pronounced dead Aug. 24, two days after she was found in the family's Irwin home with a pet Burmese python wrapped around her head.

I didnt say they were cold hearted killers, they dont know what they are doing.. And GUESS what, there has been a couple dozen of recorded injuries and deaths in the US alone by PET snakes... Fucking hell... just look.

I have had experience actually. My uncle used to own a 7 ft male Boa.. AND My best friends, Boyfriend owns three.. He has informed me alot about them because I hope to own one in the future.

I am sure many people have gotten seriously injured or killed by sleeping (knowingly or not) with reptiles or any animal..

Funny how you, OF ALL PEOPLE, would use an example such as a pit bull.... Ignorance, stupidity, and prejudice.. Someone that is so keen on defending SEX with a snake... And you go on saying that pitties are biters...

    ASSHOLE..

Wow. Singling out pit bulls is downright stereotypical. I own two, and have owned a rottweiler who have all been amazingly intelligent and well adjusted housemates. When I was a kid I went into a friends house and was bitten by his Beagle on one occasion. It's all in how you raise the creature and what you expose it to. It's the same thing with humans.

Pythons are WAYY smaller then Boas.. An Adult Boa constrictor(8ft pluse) is alot bigger and stronger then an adult ball python (max 5 feet)..
