In the official GOP response to the State of the Union address last night, Nikki Haley took shots at front runners Trump and Cruz, greatly reducing the chances of her being a VP running mate anytime soon. Another problem for her long term future is that she's been accused of having two affairs. If she tries to make a bigger splash on the national stage, the press will investigate the details of those relationships. This leaves me unsure of why she was selected to make the speech.

Ann Coulter posted on Twitter that President Trump should deport Nikki Haley (to India).

Meanwhile, Jeb Bush continues to spend more money than all other Republican contenders, while his poll numbers sink closer to zero.

 

Maybe I am wrong about Bush outlasting the rest. His SuperPAC just disbanded.

Coulter is a whack job. Rumor has it that she plays the conservatives just to be able to sell books.
She is also a hypocrite.
She is also known to(wait for it). . . . . . Date BLACK men. Oh the humanity.

 

So Cruz lied about a $1 million loan from Goldman-Sachs when he ran for senate.
Another damn hypocrite.

 

Nikki Haley is the governor of a state with one of the highest childhood poverty rates in the country and she refused to expand Medicaid under the affordable healthcare act. She should probably sit down and shut the fuck up.

This would definitely make him lose votes if he was running for president/prime minister in my country. Not much people here are attracted to candidates who throw that much money away just to get themselves in a better light. In fact it would almost guaranteed have the opposite result.
Sometimes I wonder why most americans seem to believe this is not a big deal or even a very valid way to try to become president. Does it merely look like that to me or is it really so?

It's quite hopeless if a country has to do it with these president candidates. It would be really funny if it wasn't about the actual future of your country. Since it is not my country I can also laugh about it but really, that awareness in the back of my head that this is the real deal for you guys is what makes me fully understand why people can't watch that shit.

 

The only reason I'm not overly concerned this election cycle is I don't think a republican has a chance in hell of winning.

Compare that to past years when I have done some serious research into moving to another country.

I actually think, and I know I probably never shut up about him around here, that bernie sanders signifies a move into what I think of as the common sense era of American politics. I hope.

 

As it is a democracy he only needs the support of all sensible american citizens

 

I heard it was ridiculous. Fortunately for me---I only have rabbit ears and was able to keep some semblance of sanity. (well, my TV has the ears --mine are a little smaller.).

I was expecting worse from her. All through her career, any mention of Democrats has made her fly into a rage. I think she might be capable of physically abusing liberals.

 

When the democracy is properly functioning and he doesn't have a majority of the voters then a candidate just have to take his losses. Wether a candidate has a majority or not, if he doesn't get the support of the people that are supposed to stand behind him (because they agree with his points) he is powerless anyway.

 

I think, and hope you are correct. Let's be honest, the repub candidates appeal to voters of lesser intelligence. Unfortunately, there are a lot of them in this country.

 

I watched the whole debate.
Granted, I missed some of it here and there because I was busy with the comment section in an open thread/article for the debate... as well as in chat at that same site.
Also, I was drinking beers.
I wasn't trashed by the end, but I was nicely lit.

Now, for the Democrats debate tomorrow night, I probably won't drink at all.
I also probably won't hang out in any chat rooms.

The difference being that Democrats have debates that actually have some good information in them.
They talk about their ideas and plans, what needs to be done and how to do it.
Sure, there's some sniping here and there, but unlike the Republican "debates" they're the exception instead of the rule.

 

Ted Cruz has won Iowa. Marco Rubio came within 1% of catching Trump for second place.

Mike Huckabee is dropping out of the race.
