I don't agree with a lot of things he believes in and I think he's done some really douchey things, but I wish Kasich would get the Republican nomination.

At least he's trying to run a positive, decent campaign.
And I feel like a general election would result in thoughtful, non-screaming, debates.
I would look forward to seeing Sanders debating Kasich.

Unfortunately, it's looking like Trump will be the one to face Sanders.
Although, Rubio has a good chance as well.
    Cruz won't get it though.
And Carson is just a joke.

Nah that goes into a separate category regarding the sexual proclivities of the human species.

That's a whole different topic though, in the sense in this case you have those "proclivities" and you got a bunch of people (mostly men when it comes to Republicans right now) who have to hide all their fetishes that they could just openly discuss here if they didn't have a job in the public eye.

Basically two-faced, because it's the job they have that requires them to live dishonestly.

Kasich just signed a bill defunding Planned Parenthood. Moderate indeed. Just another right wing prick.

Kasich is also screwing the Ohio public school system cutting public education funds by $515 million while raising charter school funds by 27%. Ohio's charter school are reported to be some of the worst in the nation. Ohio now spends more per student for charter (read religious) schools than public schools.

The education mess in Ohio under Gov. John Kasich

Kasich's talks seem to be logical and coherent, but when you look at his record he's just another Republican demagogue.

I woulda put it in the "Post a Pic of Anything," thread but some sensitive, easily offended ppl complain about blatant inflammatory fotos there.

So, since this thread is slamming Repugnicant Clowns anyhow...

There is a fallback plan in place. It has never been done but I wonder if it could if a total and dangerous incompetent like trump gets the popular vote.

I suppose everyone knows you do not vote for a president. You vote for an elector who votes for a president. In all the history of the nation the electors have seldom voted against the party that won the popular vote.

But, I have heard this was put in place by our aristocrat founding fathers just to make sure the plebe did not put in a totally dangerous and incompetent president.

Let's hope if the ignorant masses put trump in the founders fallback plan kicks into place.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Are there restrictions on who the Electors can vote for?

There is no Constitutional provision or Federal law that requires Electors to vote according to the results of the popular vote in their States. Some States, however, require Electors to cast their votes according to the popular vote. These pledges fall into two categories—Electors bound by State law and those bound by pledges to political parties.

The U.S. Supreme Court has held that the Constitution does not require that Electors be completely free to act as they choose and therefore, political parties may extract pledges from electors to vote for the parties’ nominees. Some State laws provide that so-called "faithless Electors"; may be subject to fines or may be disqualified for casting an invalid vote and be replaced by a substitute elector. The Supreme Court has not specifically ruled on the question of whether pledges and penalties for failure to vote as pledged may be enforced under the Constitution. No Elector has ever been prosecuted for failing to vote as pledged.
Today, it is rare for Electors to disregard the popular vote by casting their electoral vote for someone other than their party’s candidate. Electors generally hold a leadership position in their party or were chosen to recognize years of loyal service to the party. Throughout our history as a nation, more than 99 percent of Electors have voted as pledged.

One person, one vote is the only way to cure insiders from thir games. I have a feeling Sanders may be for this---never know though.

Yeah... "Charter School" = code word for allowing government money into religious institutions.

After I made the comment about Kasich, I learned about his PP defunding and education slashing.

Honestly, they're all just so shitty it's impossible to pick a decent competitor out of the lot of them.

Today, Trump mocked the shape of Rubio's ears. Never has there been a more immature candidate.

Also, today Christie endorsed Trump, even tho he recently said that "a vote for Trump is a vote for Hillary". Does that mean that he doesn't believe what he says?

    What a bunch of clowns!

You know, I'm wondering if there could possibly be that many dumb people that continue to vote republican. It's S00 obvious what their agendas are and always have been. Frankly, most of the responses concerning ANYTHING that barely smacks of something progressive brings out insults that one would not stand for face to face. And mean pricks, if one bothers to read some Yahoo stories and the kick back. They just HAVE to be paid shills for the Kochsuckers. Aren't they? I don't get it.

Rubio took some pretty low blows at Trump today during a rally he held. Rubio was trying soo hard to be mean, to play Trump at his own game. It just sounds so unnatural coming from his mouth.

Same level of "discourse." Folks in other countries must wonder what in the hell has the US come to.

It's weird and slightly uncomfortable to watch the new Marco Rubio speeches. It's like he's trying to be a mini-Trump. Somebody should have told him that if you change your speaking style in the middle of a campaign, it's going to make people wonder what's going on with you.
