I'm not gonna bother reading the rest of the responses (I don't think I need to, I already know what they'll say.). But come on, by calling them retards... I think that's hilarious. (I know this has probably been repeated a million times, but still.)

 

just a thought.... but if you're that concerned about their feelings and their humanity, why would you refer to them as retards and "those people"?

if they can tell that an embryo (not talking about a grown baby feutus here) is going to be mentally handicapped is it wrong to terminate it? or is it more wrong to willingly allow a person to enter this world who will suffer with a handicap? sometimes i think you have to be cruel to be kind. im not an advocate of playing god... but in an argument im undecided as what my thoughts are..

as for the word retard.. it's only a word. its meaning is not derogatory. any negative connotations you have with it are brought about by peoples usage of it. if you want to not use it because you think it is degrading then you are only further perpetuating the idea that it is a rude word. i dont see why we cant transcend these stupid ideals

because, these people have feelings and emotions just like us. but what good can they do in society? there are some people who are "functionally retarded", where they can stand on an assembly line all day and push a button, but then there are your "completely disabled". sorry if i sound like an asshole, but these people are burdens. they eat up all the food, make people wait on them hand and foot and for what? a beating heart? this person cannot work, come up with original ideas, and basically useless to society. why keep em around?
