I heard reports on it here and there and wondering if anyone knew about it or was concerned. Here's an example of one of the news stories:

    http://www.npr.org/2012/03/02/147781035/high-levels-of-arsenic-found-in-rice

It seems that rice easily absorbs arsenic found naturally in soil, and over time, the arsenic could lead to some cancers and other health issues. Doesn't sound like a big problem for rice eaten in moderation, but something to think about if a person consumes a lot of rice /rice milk.

Love rice Milk! I can't drink it straight as yes it is quite sweet. I started drinking it when I suffered eczema a little girl. I couldn't eat dairy without it flaring up something chronic. I'd tried soya but that was horrid! Rice milk was the only success. Love making hot chocolate with it! Oat milk is also yummy.

I am one of many who can no longer tolerate lactose, so I drink lactose-free milk or almond milk. I can eat cheese, yogurt and drink buttermilk because the processing seems to make it easier to digest I presume by disabling the lactose.

A small glass of coconut milk has a calming effect on me, and I usually drink it before going to bed, or if I'm craving sweets since it's low carb.
