The thing is that some of you have not a fucking clue about what "rich" is. You think because some people actually do something productive with their lives other than mooch off the system, they're automatically bad people. So before we just go pigeonholing everyone, why don't we first define what "rich" is. My opinion of what rich people are is those like Warren Buffet, George Soros and others who own politicians like Obama, who wield real power which affects millions if not billions of people. Not the doctor or lawyer who lives a few blocks away in the new $400,000 house with a huge yacht in his front yard. No, those people are probably only upper middle class.

I have no want's or need's for anything. Our family has worked hard for many years to aquire the money and assets we have.

How do you single a "rich" person out? By the money made? If thats the case, My two neighbors, One poor and one real well off. But in the end, Only a few thousand dollars define poor/rich.
The ones who love him are on his "handout" list, The rest work and use their brain to make money and continue to use that brain to keep it.

People sure whine a lot. This is far from a second depression. The poor in the USA are rich compared to poverty in some other countries. People in the USA are spoiled. People here take their gadgets and cars for granted. How many of you fussbudgets who think this is a second depression use public transportation and get your Internet at the library? If this was a second depression you would not have a car, computer or Internet. How many of you who fuss, write to your congress and the president when you have issues. I see people stroking their egos with their political self righteousness. How much of it is real? How much of it is just an excuse to stir up drama and push your views on others, patronize, and then pat yourself on the back because you think you are smarter than everyone else? Most of the time I do not fuss about politics with people. I write to the source of my issues. I write letters to the politicians. I ride public transportation but I do pay for my computer and Internet as long as I go to school.

I will not get caught up in a lets all freak out about what the government is doing. I have watched people do this for almost 50 years.

 

Why hate on the rich? They did something right or were born into the right family. Who cares get over it. Honestly if I had the choice I would have chosen to have been born rich in stead of good looking any day.

 

I don't think Obama's from Kenya.(and I wouldn't really give a shit if he were!) But he is a would-be dictator!! He's the first president in my lifetime to restrict protesting around the White House or secret service(HR347)

 

well i don't think this is a second depression or anything, but i'm pretty sure there were still plenty of people with cars during the first one. also, not everyone lives in the city, so public transportation is quite often not an option.

i don't really think letter writing is going to accomplish anything, unless maybe you include a multi-million dollar check with the letter. and even then, significant change is still highly unlikely.

 

You're bragging that you've been cool, calm and collective about government for 50 years. Meanwhile we've been loosing freedoms progressively for OVER 50 years, so I'll keep watching what government is doing, and you can keep writing your useless "Letters," we all see how well politicians listen, and how well our representatives represent us!!!

My grandfather is still around. He was born is june of 1922. He grew up in the first depression and he said we are in the same situation now. The only exceptions are, That we have family to help out, Extended family and friends. If last resort you have nobama handouts and welfare.

He walked along side the railroad tracks to pick up coal that fell off the cars to keep warm. They also made moonshine and bathtub gin to get by. His mother died when he was 10yrs old, But family stuck togeather. I herd all the storys and they do compare to the way the country is today.

Same goes for today, He offers money all the time for the high priced libturd gas. They cant afford to own a company, So they tax it to death and send the EPA around and fuck with people.

But i agree, Most of my hate for the POS is from lack of wanting to stand firm on our constitution, Spend money we dont have, Lower our credit rating, The list goes on. But you say hes a good guy? The country is doing good? Lol maybe in your mind, But in real life he has put us in deep hole.

 

I am not bragging. My mother was an activist who shoved and still shoves politics down my throat like a fundamentalist religion. Most of her friends and she are complete phonies about it. They like to humiliate people, act better than people, and have chips on their shoulders about how self righteous they are but in their own homes and lifestyles they are complete hypocrites that are no better than the people they put down. They expect politicians to listen when they yell at them. I have had politicians in my area acknowledge what I have to say to them because I do not call them names, treat them like they are not human, and I take the time to listen and acknowledge what their view is respectfully before I tell them my viewpoint. People like my mom act like it is us or them. Black and white etc...I see them as people too, with families friends and a lifestyle and culture of their own. The best way to be listened too, is not to accuse, yell, call names, and only acknowledge the negatives of what they do. The human race has changed since the constitution was written. Our issues change and you can't expect the government to not make changes to it. We may not always like the changes but we can let them know. They won't plug their ears as much if they are approached in a manner that does not seem like a personal attack.

There has always been poverty and a lot of that has to do with overpopulation. We are going to keep breeding and therefore there will always be the haves and the have nots. I live on $700 a month and I live pretty good. I did not have a car when I lived in the middle of no where a mile from the closest neighbor. I had a bicycle, and my ex-husband had a bike with a cart on the back, for our two children. Occasionally we would have a car but usually we went without because it was cheaper.

 

Okay, well if you respect peoples views then respect that our Constitution is our Founding Document, and some people would rather DIE, than surrender the Freedoms it promises us!! Freedom of Speech, protection from unreasonable searches and seizures, the right to bear arms and, the right to a free trial, is what once made this country great. These Liberties should not change- and it's not that they're somehow "obsolete."

No, it's because the criminals that run this country don't want to follow any rules or regulations! They want the freedom to take our freedom & break their own laws!!

 

So what are you doing about it? Sitting around taking LSD and complaining about it? Yelling be cause the government is victimizing you and everyone by taking away your rights? The only thing I don' t mind them changing is our right to bare arms. I have known two children who were shot in my lifetime because of idiots with guns. I am not saying get rid of all guns but place stricter rules. As for our other rights I protest by writing not by freaking out about it. My family got raided by cops twice. It is not like I do not know what it is like to have my home invaded.

 

I don't take LSD anymore. Furthermore, no! I've written letter that went ignored to the White house and Obama, I vote, I spread the message of freedom and, I protest things that I believe in!

You don't mind if the government forces you to be Catholic? Or if the ONLY people who were allowed to have guns were crazy government folks, who can kick in your door and rape your wife?

You are not listening. I never said, I agreed with what they are doing. I never said that I do not protest. I said, I do not freak out and whine about it. I have been to many protests in my life. I just have observed especially with raising teenagers that people are more apt to listen if you listen to them and argue without flipping out about it. I am a 3rd generation pagan. So far I have not been burnt at the stake. My ancestor John Hart was one of our founding fathers. My family has been here a long time.

My young adult children are not apathetic like most people their age. So I must have done something right.

Calling me stupid is a good way to not be listened too. I am listening though. Sorry, I made the LSD jab at you. It is not like I never took it. So I have been insulting too. No one is perfect. I just get frustrated watching people not get heard because they freak out. I have a close friend who even ran for election in my state as State treasure. She got so many votes over 20 some years ago she got Norml on the ballot here. She is awesome and wages most her time and energy towards human rights and environmental issues. She has one handicap. She flips out when confronting politicians and I watch them shut her down. It is how I learned to stay calm when voicing my issues.

But you're an older man (lady?) you don't have to deal with the reprecussions of this tyrannical government, that your apathy has created! What you want means very little in retrospect, what's best for the future of this country is that we don't turn into Nazi Germany or Communist Russia, and what I do (You know taking LSD and sitting on my ass complaining,) is a job which is full of effort, yet, utterly thankless!!
