ok if this destruction is really going to happen and it is a certain human tradgedy waiting to take place, gods of other religions must be warning their followers too, otherwise that wud be just unfair! are there any other prophecies written for other religions that describe this event?

There are no other religions that speak of these events. The prophecies of the Bible that have been fulfilled already, and with many more to come, will only be found in The New and Old Testaments. Both books were inspired by the same God, and He along knows the future. .

There is only one God of other religions and he is in no way warning them of this impending judgment. He is just a deciever of the one true religion. On the other hand, the God of the Bible has already written down in his word what will happen so generations over the centuries could no before hand what he has planned. There is only one way to avoid this judgment and it is a narrow road.

The bible, throughout history, was intended to be a staple of citizen obedience.

Dating back to early history, before mass communication was available, the "people" recieved a book containing ethics to live by. Maintaining high morale is critical for a civil population. These "prophecies" breed fear and unknown consequences into the citizens mind. Overgeneralized, leaving imagination to run wild. Remember kids, fear=control, tactic still used today.

Now, I do NOT normally get into religious debates, for the fact of endless opinions.

If the Bible was nothing but a book that was to keep the people of the time in line, then we would not see the false prophecies that were written with in it's pages to be coming true. Yet that is what is happening. These prophecies are not vague, and have not been overgeneralized. The are very detailed, and deal with Russia, Israel, Europe, America, and the Middle East. And all of these prophecies are now coming to pass. The Jews are not back in Israel by accident. The Jews do not control Jeruslem because of luck. And Jerusalems East Gate is not sealed because no one bothered to open it.

I believe all the prophecies - it's the interpretations that bother me. Russia? I don't think so.
Personally, the prophecies of Mother Shipton give me that tingle down the spine.
