its not peace that they were making fun of, it was your ignorance that you seem to boast about so freely, whining that you "can't help it", which doesn't help your argument either.
I don't think that he was arguing, just stating a sentiment. No need to be a wanker, BNP. Anyhow... You can ban guns all you want, people will just start throwing rocks at each other instead. Hell, people would still get their hands on guns as it is... even if you ban them. A whole new massive black market would rise. But hell, being so idealistic at 16 is a beautiful thing.
I strongly disagree with this statement. yes, violence and war comes very naturally to human beings, and we've been going at it since someone figured out how to break off a stick and use it as a spear. but that doesn't mean we will never know peace. it shouldn't, at least. if we're so fucking advanced, then at some point we should be able to set aside internal strife and focus on working together as a species, for the best of our species. of course, the following line of thought is just as idealistic as the OP, but imagine if all the money spent on war and weapons, all the money spent to recover, all the manpower necessary for a bit of battle and the rebuilding in the aftermath, what if all this was instead used to build schools and houses and farms et cetera? hopeful, yes. but wouldn't we be much better off? so why not try to open our minds to the possibility of peace, instead of acting all jaded and go "war is a fact of life, nothing to do about that."
Thank you! This is what I meant, I just...have a hard time writing what I think without it being taken the wrong way...Speaking is different, but typing....I don't know... But really thank you!
