Edit: went back far enough to see that you said--"I don't believe in hell." And something about 'a place of fiery torment being ridiculous. I was wrong, at least as far back as I went.
I always thought that hell was used by the purveyors of religious thought to scare people into submission to their biblical ideas.

 

That is true. The false Christian churches do use hell to scare people into submission. That is a way that people twist the scriptures to mislead others about God and his sovereignty.

 

The bible has Satan in it. No Hell, no pitchforks, no place of eternal torment. Lies.

I remember I found it the dumbest dance ever introduced at the time it came out.

 

satan has been misleading christians into beliveing it to be god, and worshiping it, ever since saul of tarsus corrupted christianity. and all of that without existing outside of their imagination.
what christ argued with when facing exicution, was himself. as anyone is likely to do.
could he have avoided ending up where he was, without being dishonest with himself? that was the question.
and as is often the case for many of us, the answer was ultimately, "no".

 

The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one. Satan uses this system to blind people's eyes of the glorious good news of the Christ and this message is being preached in the entire inhabited earth, as instructed by Jesus.

Not fictional. It is not in people's minds, it's written down for all to see! The bible tells a story of human beings connectivity with God. This God has a name. The God of the bible and of all of mankind is Jehovah, the creator of our wonderful earth and all that resides upon it. Jehovah, created humans as a finishing touch to everything else he created. A crowning point, so to speak.

How is it not a good comparison? god cannot be proven as real and he never has been proven as real. All any believer in god can truly have is faith, which by definition is the veritable lack of evidence.

When you can provide evidence of god that does not rely upon faith or deluding one's mind into believing despite logic and reason, then you can have my apology. Otherwise, stop being so damned ignorant.

Nature is not evidence of god. Nature is evidence of a natural world exclusive of any supernatural influence.

Science has its theories, which is more than one can state for a poke in the dark answer that makes no logical sense.

Science seeks and changes its mind when it learns something new that contradicts old data. Religion does the opposite, for it relies only on primitive hearsay from fill-in-the-gaps people who know only that they want an answer "now".

Science provides a relational more credible theory than anything religion only suspects on the basis of fallible faith.

Stating "I don't know" is always better than making an assumptive claim that "god did it".
