To be honest, it does have a soap opera feel or definitely a drama at the theaters..just like real life.. The whole bible is really about 1 thing.. It is about God's right to rule.. Satan challenged God in the bible with the main challenge in Genesis (Garden of Eden) where Satan challenged God about his right to rule, by saying to Eve, that she positively would not die (1st lie) if she ate from the tree. With the reason being that God didn't want her to eat from the tree, cause her eyes would bound to be opened and that she would be like God, knowing Good and Bad.. Very soap opera I know, but that is how the bible lays it out..villians, good people, bad people, guilt and repentance before the destruction of ALL of wicked mankind..
what verse are these its stated that we would see like God? isn't it just that she ate form the fruit of knowledge?
I find it disturbing that God would put this fruit so easily within our reach while also allowing the enemy of our souls to tempt us with it when the consequences would be millions of human spirits separated from God and in eternal torment. I am bothered that Hell exists at all.
Yes it was within reach but so were many other trees they could have eaten from without problems. Also it was only one tree in all the Earth. Plus remember that the "enemy of our souls" was not originally the "enemy of our souls" but was one of God's faithful sons who after man was created decided to go against God. Last, "Hellfire" is a misunderstanding of what the Bible says. Hell is merely the common grave of mankind.
Points taken except for that last one. Please bring me up to speed. Are you suggesting that it is merely a place of separation from God and not of eternal suffering?
early humans were prey and had finely honed instincts that dealt with the threat of predators. when we humans clawed our way to the top of the food chain we no longer had to worry so much about predators but the instinct to fear them and guard against them still remained. to fill the place of subconscious expectation of predation we humans created, out of our fear, our natural suvival instincts, invisible predators. note how Satan seems to always work his evil through fellow humans. this is because we humans have no natural enemies left except ourselves. Satan and his minion of demons are simply imaginary invisible predators we humans apparently still need to satisfy the dread expectations, the sublimated survival instincts, of our ever frightened inner savage.
Yep, he has plenty of others but if he can convince you he doesn't exist, he doesn't need the others.
