M4N, i wanted to ask u, how did u take such good pics of your seedlings, the pics i took of my seedlings came out a bit blurry and out of foucus. can't wait for the update my man
ok, very remedial beginner question...i see "light leak" used a lot...just so i'm absolutely clear on it this refers to light leaking IN to the growing area during the light cycle and not light leaking OUT during the day cycle and decreasing the lumens available to the plants, right? or do i hav it backwards? so i was thinking of just using two fans, one oscilating and one exhaust. is that a bad idea to not have the two more? i mean just for a first grow and all? as for light i intend to have the tent erected in my walk-in closet which will be generally unused otherwise so i dont have to go in there for anything. i'd keep the closet light off at all times, and try and keep the closet door closed during "night time" to prevent light getting in.... but is 2.5x2.5 really big enough? i know my goal i s four plants, but i will germinate more than that to prevent a really tiny grow due to males. i was thinking of trying to do 6 seeds and if they're all female just growing 6 plants... anyway this isn't my thread and i have hijacked it a bit. ill post other stuff elsewhere if i have more questions i am anxious for more pics
i dont know about his camera but one of my lenses for my 35mm has a good macro function....they make special lenses for closeups...i'm sure now that digital cameras are so advanced these days there are probably a couple decent affordable ones capable of doing good closeups as a standard feature
i got a good digital but i couldn't get it to focus on the seedling, it was focused on the dirt and the seedling was blurry and out of focus.
Amazing job M4N14C42O. I read the thread when you grew the 6 ice plants and was wondering do you still use the same air system? one fan that goes to your restroom? I bet that makes your restroom smell like heaven. anyway i hope to be able to grow someday, seems like a really fun hobby lol. keep growing man!
maybe this isn't what you're talking about, but my reflector (big ugly box type) has two removable vented plates covering circular holes designed to hook up to venting....i think to cool it. one opening like this on either end of the bulb. i had planned on hooking this up to exhaust as well as intake to keep the coolest, freshest air moving around the bulb. i had figured maybe only an oscilating fan in addition to this might be sufficient. this is really painful, i'm so anxious to get started myself. very frustrating that i can't yet.
also how necessary is misting plants? i would be afraid of accidentally spraying water on the hot bulb, but i've heard people recommend misting
