    Hi Daxia,

I do share your views - but as Metalgypsy pointed out Meditation is a spiritual practice - and by that I mean becoming aware of the subtle energies and beyond.

I can confidently recommend breath meditation as being effective and beneficial to your health, it does require a disciplined approach at least an hour a day. Seek out somebody who can guide you on this.

It is energy your dealing with so it has nothing to do with Scriptures, Morals or belief; if anybody or group say otherwise walk away and find somebody who knows what they are talking about.

Patanjali. he wrote about yoga a long long time ago. no one knows for sure. some think he wrote like 5000 years ago some think less. but i was given a book of his sutras after years of looking around for methods and practicing with those and was surprised at the universality of his work.

I also have other practices which while not religious, are spiritual. My morning devotional practice includes yoga and meditation. I am wondering what the Camino veterans think about how it will be for me to practice yoga/meditate on the Camino. I understand that some find it against their understanding of Christianity. I respect their feelings and do not want to upset anyone. At the same time I cannot imagine a day that I do not connect and pray in a way that is comfortable for me.

All religions/philosophies are filled with dogma, yoga meditation is the most scientific meditation there is, believe nothing anyone tells you till you’ve experienced/confirmed it directly, believe not even your own thoughts until you’ve traced them to their source.

    Hi
I know a meditation called the Twin Hearts Meditation, introduced by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui. It seems a lot of research has been done on its effects on the body's energy and its chakras. Pictures have been taken on its effects using the Kirlian photography (before and after the meditation).
I am actually practicing this meditation also and I have found it quite helpful in calming the mind, increasing happiness and even increasing my sensitivity and awareness towards the surrounding environment.
I searched the net and found these 3 websites for you to study more about it if you like: (there is a simplified online version of it also in one of the websites I have put below)
    http://pranaworld.net/?p=200
    http://pranichealing.com/meditation-twin-hearts
    http://www.mangalorepranichealing.com/pranic_healing.html

Hope you find the information there helpful for you.
    Thank you...
    Good luck.
